Saggy face!

I've not long turned 40 and I've begun to notice I have started looking a bit saggy around the jowls.

Has anyone had any super duper facials to give some uplift?

What about the rio 40 second face lift? I have one but the jury is still out. You could also try retinol to tighten things and smooth fine lines. Start of gently then increase the strength over time.

clownfaces · 03/04/2018 15:10

I have the same issue Queen but I'm a fair bit older than you. I'll watch with interest.

PugwallsSummer · 03/04/2018 15:34

I have found the same recently. My husband took a photograph of me in what I hope was bad lighting, and my lower face looked like it was all hanging down. Really unflattering.

I'm going to go down the dermal filler route as no facial on earth will get rid of the lines from my nose to my mouth, or the ones from the corners of my lips to my chin. 😭
Just need to save some cash...

JMAngel1 · 03/04/2018 15:37

Yes, radiofrequency facials work really well for sagging - my jaw and eyes are much tighter and I was convinced I would need fillers. Not going to lie, it's not the most relaxing facial, it hurts a lot, but it's worth it. I had a 6 treatment course one every 3 weeks now I'm on maintenance every 6-8 weeks.

KellyMarieTunstall2 · 03/04/2018 16:40

What's a radio frequency facial? Is that like caci? My cheeks are heading south and I'm very tempted to have filler. I'll watch this thread with interest too.

Dontsayyouloveme · 03/04/2018 16:53

JMAngel1 hi there, you may not remember me 👋🏼 (I may have changed username since) I recommended skin tightening with Dr Nyla. As I remember you went to a different salon in the end. Could you PM me the name of the salon as I really want to pick this up again, just not paying Dr N’s prices! Many thanks. PS. Glad you are loving the results Smile

ShovingLeopard · 03/04/2018 16:54

I have this issue too. V depressing! Has anybody tried facial yoga?

QueenOfIce · 03/04/2018 18:09

I'm looking up radio frequency facials is there a particular company that's good? I looked that the little NuFace gadget but I'm not sure it does much or that I can be arsed to roll it around my face so many times a week.

THis is meant to be very good - www.medicetics.com/treatment/mesotherapy/. I’ve not tried it personally but it’s in my list of things to get done. I have had radiofrequency skin tightening and it was amazing! I had Elixis Elite, but it’s not cheap and you need a course even thought you see a difference after the first treatment! If you can afford it, I would highly recommend it! www.olympicdermatology.com/cosmetic-dermatology/level-two/exilis-elite/

ShovingLeopard · 03/04/2018 19:49

How long do the effects last, Dontsay?

JMAngel1 · 03/04/2018 21:15

Hi dontsay, yes I remember - you made the joke about take your credit card to Dr Nyla and you weren't wrong!! I go to a salon in Northenden called Adorez - the therapist is called Naheed and she uses a Promax radiofrequency machine. Very good results for me - when I come out. it looks like my cheeks have lifted by an inch!

Dontsayyouloveme · 03/04/2018 21:16

Shoving Of the Elixis? Well I had four treatments two weeks apart, then I was due to go back 6 months after for another and this would have lasted 24 months. I never got round to go back after 6 months. Bit difficult to tell tbh as I have regular Botox but I would say 8-12 months!

ShovingLeopard · 03/04/2018 21:38

Not a bad amount of time to last, then! Do you mind me asking roughly how much it might cost? I'm in danger of looking like the Churchill dog pretty soon if I don't watch out!

SukiTheDog · 03/04/2018 21:42

Is it “tablet” face? Apparently, there’s going to be a whole generation of 30’s, 40’s and 50+ yr olds with lines on their jaw lines and necks from looking down, at their iPads. Oh dear.

MancMum01 · 03/04/2018 21:49

Glad I read this as I was on the Dr Nyla thread last year as well - spent a fortune there and really the results were not all that .. definitely not worth the money .. I have lost weight and now the jowls are showing up so I think I will be off to Adorez pronto!

Dontsayyouloveme · 03/04/2018 21:58

Shoving, I paid £250 per session for just the eye area but have found somewhere that uses the same Elixis Elite machine, for just £99 for the full face or £125 for face and neck. This site will let you search for nearest clinic to you that provides Elixis. www.btlaesthetics.com/en/find-a-physician?p=G23JDTQLJUZT2HNS

Can I sue Mumsnet? 😉

Dontsayyouloveme · 03/04/2018 22:01

Hey *JMAngel’. Yes, the credit card.... 💳, mines still suffering from two years ago! Thanks for the salon details, I’ll have e a look now!! Exciting!! X x

lovemylover · 03/04/2018 22:33

Queenofice Dot bother with a Nuface,i have one its rubbish,i am going tomorrow for a Promax tester, not in my town but not too far away,
They have an offer on at the moment, 3 sessions for £99, normally £110 a go

phoolani · 03/04/2018 23:01

I’ve got the ZIIP- which I think is a similar thing to NuFace (I’m not sure) - which I think has made some difference to my lower face, but more to my mid face (cheekbones and general lifting). I have found face yoga is good around that area (less so in others, no idea why).

ShovingLeopard · 03/04/2018 23:26

Thanks for that Dontsay, I'm going to investigate.

I think mine might be a bit of tablet face, plus a non-sleeping toddler, plus hitting early mid forties..... The pace of change is alarming!

lovemylover · 03/04/2018 23:48

Never heard of the Zip,is it English? i tried thr Dermawand on a months trial, it wasnt really long enough maybe, but it was a lot of money if it didnt work, but i think now it might have if i could have tried it for longer,it was radiofrequency,so might be ok to top up a treatment with
I will let you know what the Promax trial is like
Its a good offer @£99 for 3 sessions

OCSockOrphanage · 04/04/2018 11:00

I have the mini NuFace, and it's worked quite well minimising the bar code lines around my top lip, although one side is better than the other, because I sleep on the worse side. But I'm not really jowly, yet.

newdocket · 04/04/2018 12:26

I have started doing a five minute facial massage every day and I think it is making me look a bit less haggard / saggy. Could well be wishful thinking of course. It's been about a month now, I'd recommend giving it a try, it's relaxing too!

QueenOfIce · 04/04/2018 12:36

I have been looking at super duper radio frequency facials near me, need to do a little more research I think there's a lot to choose from! I have done a little facial yoga but I'm quite lazy I guess and get bored quickly.

Have been looking at the puppet facial, not sure I like the sound of it.
