Can you tell me your favourite blusher ?

I am looking for something reasonably minimal that gives me that ' I've been for a bracing walk' look and that is fool proof to apply ( can't be doing with makeup brushes).
I have warm toned medium-fair skin.
Am happy to pay more if it works ;)

Hourglass Dim Infusion - expensive but lasts forever.

ProperLavs · 30/03/2018 11:28

Thanks to you all I know have a long list and I am hitting the town centre tomorrow to see how many of them I can try ( please don't let me like Dim infusion the best)!

I'm going to offer an unusual recommendation here: Barry M colour changing lipstick in Genie. The lipstick is green (bear with me) but you swatch it on your skin and it turns a shade of pink in response to the heat of your body. I use it as a blush. Just swatch a bit on the tips of your fingers (not directly on face, as it won't blend) and then rub it into your cheeks as you would a cream blush. The colour matches your skin tone and lasts literally all day with no fade. It looks so natural that when I wear it it's like me, but after going for a run.

Thanks fabala I have a lipstick queen one like that, never thought as trying it as a blush!

Mac margin is my go to. I have tried Mac gingerly and Nats orgasm and most of the benefit ones and I always end up going back to Mac margin

Bobbi Brown pot rouge 'Fresh melon'

MistyMinge · 30/03/2018 17:34

Bourjois Lilas D'or is very similar to Nars Orgasm in my opinion. It lasts way longer too.

Dior Rosy Glow is brilliant. Gives you the 'been out walking in the bracing weather' kind of glow with no glitter. It adapts to skin tone so is one that you start with a small amount and let it develop for a couple of minutes. Isn't the cheapest but you use such a small amount it lasts ages.

BobLoblawLawBlog · 30/03/2018 18:57

(It looks ferociously pink in the compact but it really isn't that shade on)

ProperLavs · 30/03/2018 20:16

Right, I have my list made up and will have no dc with me so I can concentrate on testing out all your recommendations. I'm a bit scared of going into Mac as once I had a makeover with them and they made me look like a badly made up man in drag!

Sounds like a Bobbi Brown pot rouge is just what you need, you can also use it on lips aswell as cheeks, no brush needed, just your ring finger! I love them 😀

Mac desert rose

WEll here I am in costa, in town, having spent all afternoon blusher hunting.
Bobbi brown service- crap, SA spoke poor English and we couldn’t understand one another. She grabbed one blusher seemingly picked at random and then Showed obvious disappointment that I wasn’t buying- I ran out.

MAC used their wipes to get rid of no good B.B. blusher. All too overwhelming- no offered of help- I ran out.

Dior- friendly SA tried the rosy glow and looked like I had slapped cheek. Went into s loo and washed it off.

Clinique- had to help SA locate the chubby sticks- she was trying to apply eyeshadow. Then she tried to sell me a highlighter.
She then broke the blusher display, everything fell on the floor and broke. I ran off.

Urban decay- I sat fed up in the make up chair and explained my day’s woes to friendly SA. She told me she thought I didn’t actually need blusher and certainly nothing remotely pink. She looked my skin and hair colour( currently henna red hair) and tried a bronzer on me which looked lovely and then a highlighter in sin which made me look perky.
There was no pressure to buy at all which means I might well buy something.

So nothing remotely pink for me.

Who’d Have thought it would be so blooming complicated?

And......... I almost didn't buy a pair of shoes I really wanted in TK Maxx because everytime I walked around one of them squeaked really badly. people were looking at me. "I can't wear squeaky shoes fgs" I moaned, until one nice lady smiled benignly at me and said it was probably the security tag. I gave it a poke and it squeaked.
What a day.
I need a thread on highlighters now.....
