Do you find it weird/strange when someone buys ALL of their clothes from one store/brand?

Just that really ^
I'm curious to know if people find it strange, one of my good friends religiously buys from one store..it is highly unusual if she wearing something not from that brand. Wondered what people thought of this, as it is just such a different way to how I shop - I have a cupboard full of many brands and labels with a couple of favourites

I doubt I’d think much about it. Her clothes her choice.

SapphireandSteele · 15/03/2018 18:29

Depends on the store, was itMatalan, M and S or Primark? If so not so strange.

BlancheM · 15/03/2018 18:30

I know someone who only shops at one store!

EmilyC2 · 15/03/2018 18:33

It's Jack Wills, she's in her late 20s....I know it's aimed at teens but the clothes she has are lovely (she doesn't wear the ones emblazoned with the logo). She's an advert for their quality, she has stuff that is years old that still looks good...guess that's why she has a wardrobe full of their clothes.

I know several people who only buy from Joules! I think there's a lot of brand loyalty around Joules and resale is good too on FB and Ebay.

mercurymaze · 15/03/2018 18:42

I buy most things from uniqlo

EmilyC2 · 15/03/2018 18:54

Yes there's a lot of brand loyalty surrounding Joules and Boden I find

I don't shop like that, but I might do if I found the perfect shop. At one point I did used to be 'Miss Mango', but Mango is much less 'trendy' on the continent and I don't like the things they have in this country at all.

londonrain1 · 15/03/2018 19:45

I buy 75% of my clothes in one store. It's only when I have something specific in mind, that I can't find in that store, that I'll look elsewhere.

I think it's mostly because I get overwhelmed by too much choice. If I were to go to a shopping centre and walk around a dozen clothes shops I'd get really stressed out. Also I'm a creature of habit and like to stick to the things I know and can rely on.

rightknockered · 15/03/2018 20:07

I buy a lot of stuff from Whistles, I find they cater for my inverted triangle shape. I also like Levis jeans, so buy them. Allsaints for leather bikers and not too expensive handbags, and I like their t-shirts. Mostly wear Nike trainers because they fit my narrowish feet.
Don't think it's a strange thing to do, and I probably wouldn't notice if someone else did it. I might ask where they bought something if I admired it, and then start shopping there too. Might try out Jack Wills if the quality is that good.

Batteriesallgone · 15/03/2018 20:10

I know someone like this. They have a body shape that looks stunning in the clothes of one store. Somehow clothes from other places often make his proportions look all wrong. I teased him when I first met him but after going shopping with him I conceded, he looked much better in ‘his’ brand than most others.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 15/03/2018 20:15

Almost all of my trousers come from Wallis, they're good for my apple shape. I do have quite a narrow range of shops that I check for clothes as I hate shopping and I know that these shops tend to have clothes that suit me and have reasonable quality. It's mostly laziness and not a style statement.

Lucked · 15/03/2018 20:21

I used to buy almost everything from Zara and Mango when I was willowy now I am overweight it can take me a long time to find an item that suits me. It used to be so much easier!

I am in my 40s and much of jack wills isn't too young even for me. It's very expensive for teens so they I bet a lot of their sales are to older women.

Sarsparella · 15/03/2018 20:30

Someone I know buys all her clothes and all their kids clothes from Next, absolutely everything, I guess for some people it’s ease but personally I enjoy finding things from different places and it’d never occur to me to shop like that

BuffyFan · 15/03/2018 20:33

Does buying all your clothes in Sainsbury's count? Grin

EmilyC2 · 15/03/2018 20:48

Yes, I immediately thought that jack wills was aimed at teenagers. I feel they are overlooked due to this image however, their clothes always look good quality, lovely colours and patterns. She's persuaded me to buy a few things from there.
It's interesting to see that other people do this, I wish I could find a perfect store as it would be so easy to just buy from the same place knowing full well it would be good quality and the right size

I use to buy the majority of my clothes from Boden. 20 years ago, when I first came across them, they were unlike anywhere else I had access to. I loved the natural fabrics and the colours and they fitted well (I still have a lot of Boden dresses because they do a big petite range). Now I buy very little from them, my taste has moved on but Johnny's hasn't.

I think when you find clothes that fit it just becomes easier to look at shop X because you know you'll find something you like.

FireworksAndSparklers · 15/03/2018 21:56

I hate shopping for clothes. I've got a curvy body and I'm short and finding clothes that suit my shape is difficult. When I find a brand and style that fits, I'm not about to start faffing around doing torturous clothes shopping when I can just buy from a brand I know fits and suits me.

taytotayto111 · 15/03/2018 22:08

The other day I noticed I had a joules bag, shirt and body warmer on. Not intentional. I felt slightly embarrassed when I realised but must admit I love joules and find their clothes fit me well. However I’m annoyed as some of my tops have shrunk but I’m still loyal to them and I also love jaeger. Most of what I own is from joules or jäeger .

prampushingdownthehighst · 15/03/2018 22:14

My Aunt was always top to toe Marks and Spencer. ....she wouldn't have dreamt of going anywhere else but she did always look very put together (1970s/80s)

TheBitterBoy · 15/03/2018 22:15

I know several people who only shop for clothes in Next, have done for years. I've always thought it was a bit odd, but they also get up at the crack of dawn for the Next sale and I've never understood that either.

Trills · 15/03/2018 22:19

How would I notice, unless it was all visibly-branded, or they told me?

If someone told me they got all their clothes from shop X I'd probably think they were exaggerating and just meant that it was their favourite shop.

Youcallthatgreen · 15/03/2018 22:26

I used to buy 99% of my clothes from Oasis. It used to be great quality and the cut was perfect for me. Not so much now on either count. I've yet to find a replacement shop. :(

My only concern was if I bought a few items from the same season, I'd have to be careful not to look like one of the mannequins!

I couldn't care less what people thought. As for other people wearing the same brand head to toe I doubt I'd even notice. Well, unless it was heavily labelled and then I would judge a little.

ItStartedWithAKiss241 · 15/03/2018 22:32

I love jack wills and I am in my late twenties. I don’t blame her! X

Shadow666 · 15/03/2018 22:42

I always buy my trousers in Next. They just seem to fit my fat arse really well Blush

I buy my tops in a variety of places though.

I probably wouldn't notice if someone always used the same shop.
