The Ordinary is certainly that.

So I drank the Kool-Aid, believed the hype and invested in a number of The Ordinary products. And my foundation pills every time I apply it and my skin is not only not improved, but more congested! Is there anyone else who’s distinctly unimpressed with this range?

Thank you

My skin was so dry/dehydrated it went straight in! So I'd put it on (2-3 drops) before brushing my teeth and it had disappeared by the time I'd finished, for example.

I just needed to update:
I've suffered from hormonal acne for about 20 years now - the only let up being when I was on Roaccutane or been pregnant.
I've been using TO Buffet and HA 5% before my normal moisturiser at night. No other changes to my routine, diet or anything else. In fact I've been really stressed and tired this past week.
Anyway - my skin's been good, no new break outs. I woke up this morning and was completely shocked to discover I have my period. I usually know when it's on the way as I get several huge spots along my jawline - without fail every month. It's particularly shit because they appear them take my whole cycle to die down. Then of course new ones come up so it's a never ending battle.
Having no massive spots at this time of the month is a HUGE moment for me and I can only put it down to these products as nothing else has changed. I'm so happy!

It is Huge! I think the extra hydration helps a lot. I've been using hydrating toners (which suit me better than straight HA) and it's been a revelation to me. Also no hormonal volcanoes and skin is so soft and smooth. It's great 😬

Why has Victoria Health stopped selling The Ordinary ?

ginghamstarfish · 31/03/2018 10:02

In December I bought Lactic Acid, Buffet and Squalane. No particular skin problems, just ageing/wrinkles/loss of elasticity etc. Have always looked after skin before. Not seen any difference with these products so won't buy again. I like Aldi and Lidl stuff really, can't see it's much different from more expensive products.

Chanelprincess · 31/03/2018 10:53

Based on the hype, I tried a retinoid and a vitamin C product from The Ordinary and both felt really cheap and nasty compared to my regular brands, hence were consigned to the bin.

VeronicaLodge · 31/03/2018 11:24

But surely you can't tell very much about the efficacy of a product after one use. People expect immediate results but it doesn't work like that.

I completely agree but I do think you can tell within a couple of weeks whether a product suits your skin. It would be helpful to see results from trials comparing the efficacy of the various products, but obviously no manufacturer is going to conduct those.

FlindersKeepers · 31/03/2018 19:11

eloisesparkle there's been some drama, Racked.com and apparently Victoria Health got dragged into it plus were having stock issues.
I still love that Retinoid in Squalane though!

Thank you Finders.
