Good afternoon

So after discovering Glycolic pads, I need to up the SPF. I have classic combination skin. Is La Roche-Posay a good buy? Or any other recommendations please. Thank you Smile

I couldn't get along with LRP. It felt like it just sat on top of my skin and my make up slid off.

I really like Biore watery essence. It's around £7 on Amazon from Japan and it's amazing stuff. I bought it after a recommendation on here.

JosephWearsNoPants · 14/03/2018 14:05

la roche was visible on my skin
I'm using boots anti pollution primer ape 30. its ok but biore or shisido amazon is better. pb the brown tub is good too

itstimeforanamechange · 14/03/2018 15:16

I use Superdrug vitamin E cream with SPF.

In the summer I use Boots own sunscreen.

christmastreewithhairyfairy · 14/03/2018 15:46

I'm interested to know this too. I have been using moisturiser with SPF for years but only recently found out that SPF relates to UVB whereas most skin ageing comes from UVA Angry. I can only find proper sunscreens with 5 star UVA protection and those are too oily for every day for me.

I take it the ones mentioned catch UVA too?

Would someone mind posting a link to the biore one they use please? There’s a few different ones on amazon.

nickEcave · 14/03/2018 15:58

Boots Soltan for sensitive face is pretty good and really cheap. I don't wear foundation on top though, just a bit of concealer so I don't know if it works with makeup on top.

McDougal · 14/03/2018 15:59

Princess, I actually got it from eBay (sorry, can't do clicky link on my phone):

Simple Protecting moisturiser - It's SPF 30. Works for me and I'm a Celt in Africa!

McDougal · 14/03/2018 16:12

Wow, that link doesn't work at all Blush.

If you search eBay, it's one of the first results that comes up. It's a few pence short of £7.

weetabix07 · 14/03/2018 16:17

another vote for Biore - best I've ever used. No nasty white casting, and bloody cheap!

princessbear80 · 14/03/2018 17:08

Thanks mcdougal, this one?

That's the one, princess. I wouldn't use anything else now. Being a bargain helps Grin

Fullfatlatte · 14/03/2018 17:59

Thanks for the replies. Re La Roche-Posay did you use the ultra light one?

I definitely need one to go under my Bobbi Brown Vitamin enriched face base then foundation stick. The tinted moisturiser I have had an SPF15 but I read on another thread that after using Glycolic acid the sunscreen needs to be used after before anything else on top to be effective?

I’m a bit skeptical about ordering from Japan, is that the only place to purchase the Biore? Smile

OP posts:
McDougal · 14/03/2018 19:42

I used the ultra light one and it just wouldn't sink in. My face felt tacky the whole time I had it on.

I think you can buy Biore from UK sellers but it's the same product and looks like it's still in Japanese packaging. Oh and they've doubled the price too Shock.

FaFoutis · 14/03/2018 19:45

Clinique City Block spf25. I have used it for years and it gives me no bother, I have problem skin if I'm not careful.

SukiTheDog · 14/03/2018 19:54

Clinique do a City Block spf 40. I use it alone in the summer, in place of tinted moisturiser and it leaves a nice finish.

Fullfatlatte · 14/03/2018 19:59

Thank you for the replies, will def investigate Biore & Clinique Smile

At this time of year, one of 2 La Roche Posay ones (neither are Anthelios which gives me terrible cystic acne)

www.lookfantastic.com/la-roche-posay-hydraphase-uv-intense-light-50ml/11091832.html?rctxt=default. SPF20 broad spectrum

www.lookfantastic.com/la-roche-posay-effaclar-duo-spf30-40ml/11434756.html SPF30

In high summer, on days when I’m out in the mid day sun I use the www.kiehls.co.uk/skin-care/category/sun-care/ultra-light-daily-defense-spf-50/1811.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlfmKic3s2QIVS77tCh29gwpCEAQYASABEgKVzvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CMf7s4vN7NkCFaGg7QodtpoPug SPF50

ChishandFips33 · 14/03/2018 20:02

I love the LRP ultra light F50

It's a minefield isn't it...and not cheap navigating it!

MissFoodie · 15/03/2018 08:00

Heliocare

SuperBeagle · 15/03/2018 08:03

I didn't like La Roche Posay for the same reason as PP.

I use the Shiseido Sun Protecton Liquid. Have never burnt while wearing it and I'm in Australia.

Catsandkids78 · 15/03/2018 08:06

Nivea water gel - buy it off amazon from Japan it’s the best thing since sliced bread .

I also have the skinseuticals suncreams , LRP , neostrata , dermaquest , a biore one from Japan (amazon ! ) . All brands I’d suggest xx

Cmagic7 · 15/03/2018 08:07

I swear by Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery spf50. To me it just feels like a great moisturiser. Expensive - but lasts for ages.

SporkInTheToaster · 15/03/2018 09:28

christmastreewithhairyfairy all of the 3 I mentioned are broad spectrum (ie catch UVA & UVB rays).
