Aigle wellies

EggsonHeads · 29/01/2018 22:41

Time for a new pair of wellies and I have decided on Aigle but I have a few questions. How do they stack up against seasalt type wellies (I've had a few issues)? I plan on wearing them at least once a week to give you an idea of wear. How is the sizing? I am a size 40 in most shoes. Can I buy my usual size or do they run big/small? Any other thoughts?

I love mine, use them 2/3 times a day, every day. I've got the iso something ones that are warm in winter and cool in summer. Im a sz 6 in shoes and in aigle wellies.

Go for it- you wont regret it

BulletFox · 29/01/2018 22:51

Oooh I don't know about wellies but a pair of Aigle riding boots are my favourite ever!

If the wellies are similar though, they run big. I'm a size 2 in the riding boots and I'm normally 3.

ScribblyGum · 29/01/2018 22:52

Mine pull my socks off when an walk in them. This annoys me. I won’t buy Aigles again because of this as I end up at the end of my dog walk with my socks a little rumpled ball over my toes.
Sadly the buggering wellies are so well made and of such good quality that my Labrador is turning nine next month (I bought them when I got her as an 8 week old puppy) and when I can be arsed to clean them they look brand new. I think they’ll outlive the dog. Ive got years and year left of walking with naked feet inside my boots.

BulletFox · 29/01/2018 23:07

:) Scribbly (sorry)

Yes they are well made. Do you have a size too small?

Ariela · 29/01/2018 23:57

I've Aigle Parcours and the've got to be 6 or 7 years old. They're snug fitting, so go up a size.
Don't have the sock problem.

TheHoundsofLove · 30/01/2018 05:45

I've got the ISO Parcours. I love them for dog walking - my feet have literally never, ever been cold in them and they're sooo comfortable. But, I get the sock thing too! I think it's to do with the neoprene lining. I have remedied it by just always wearing knee length socks with them, but it is irritating!

homebythesea · 30/01/2018 07:27

My agile wellies are probably the most expensive footwear I have ever bought. But also the most comfortable by far. Knee length socks are crucial. Cost per wear reduces to pennies as they would survive a nuclear winter.

moochypooch · 30/01/2018 07:53

I have Iso Parcours for dog walking - best wellies ever for me, I have very cosy feet in them but I have the sock problem too - I just wear knee length socks, so not such a big problem for me.

SukiTheDog · 30/01/2018 08:02

I’ve had Aigle Wellies for muddy walkers with the dog. They are great. Good grip, fully waterproof and very comfy. But... I paid £140 for them and after just ten months, the side of one of them had kind of withered and I ended up with wet socks. Took them back to the shop who wanted nothing to do with it. Haven’t replaced them....I bought a cheaper pair instead.

bluebells1 · 30/01/2018 08:23

Almost everyone has an aigle these days and the people who bought them recently are complaining about the quality deteriorating. I wouldn't buy them.

moochypooch · 30/01/2018 08:26

I haven't seen anyone complain about Aigle, where have you heard this from - links? - Hunters oh yes, many recent complaints about them!

newdocket · 30/01/2018 08:27

I love mine. First time I've had them so can't compare them with older Aigles but these ones are definitely far superior to any other wellie I've ever worn.

Catatlarge · 30/01/2018 08:29

I’ve got neoprene lined ones aigle. I love them. I get the sick thing when I take them off, but not during my walk.
I love that you can wear normal socks and just go.
Really good grip.

Before them I had leather lined zipped le chameau ones. I couldn’t justify paying twice the price for another pair of these. And I’m so glad as I love the aigles! Could never go back to unlined wellies.

ArkAtEee · 30/01/2018 08:44

I have ankle length ones, have had them maybe 6 years? Very pleased with them, comfortable for longer walks too.

whitewineandchocolate · 30/01/2018 09:57

I sized down and regret it as they are hard to get on/off partly because they are very tall wellies. Got mine about 18 months ago and the quality seems fine. Bought from Amazon. Probably wouldn’t buy again due to difficulties getting on/off and because of cost I’m now stuck with them for ever!

SukiTheDog · 30/01/2018 14:53

I think I just had a duff pair but the shop I bought from ought to at least sent them back to the manufacturer. I wouldn’t buy again .... I’ve had better wear from Countrywide’s own brand basic green wellies 😊

VinoEsmeralda · 30/01/2018 15:57

Suki- my 1st pair had a similar problem and i bought online from Out of the City. Had no receipt but emailed them and they couldnt have been more helpful. Emailed photo of my faulty ones cut up and they sent a new pair.

Only recently bought my 2nd pair ( 1st pair lasted 9yrs with heavy use)

SukiTheDog · 30/01/2018 20:27

I bought mine at Uttings on line. They weren’t interested in mine so I just ended up binning them.

Northernlass99 · 30/01/2018 21:52

Walked twice a day in mine for the last four years and they are still going strong. I found them to be big and have a special pair of socks I keep for them.

bluebells1 · 31/01/2018 08:08

@moochypooch, at the local dog walking club. The ones that are at least 3 years old seem ok. Any purchases made in the last 2 years have had problems. They don't seem to have a good customer service either. Most of them have gone on to buy the irish one (can't remember the name). I am happy in my muckboots that are fugly but survived a staffy's chewing addiction Grin

Scabbersley · 31/01/2018 08:10

I bought the aigle parcours. They are supposed to be designed for walking. Mine absolutely kill my feet, they are very unsupportive. I've had them for ages and I wear them a lot but I really must get rid of them. I'm buying Ariat next as I've heard good things about them

whojamaflip · 31/01/2018 08:18

I have the aigles with the neoprene lining and anti fatigue soles - boots are worn pretty much all day every day (live and work on a farm) and I have no complaints at all! Had mine around 4 years and they have just developed a tiny split in one - not bad enough to warrant a new pair but enough to give me a cold reminder if I go through water. Grin

I will be replacing them with another pair.

TossDaily · 31/01/2018 08:28

I have a pair of navy Aigles you can have OP. I'm a 41 but they run small, and are a bit tight around my calves.

PM me your address and they're yours. I've only worn them once.

Mammyofonlyone · 31/01/2018 12:22

Super comfy but have sock issue - solved by wearing wellie socks over the top.
Also, mine are really hard to pull on and off - I have to use a pull - which can be a bit of a pain when I'm used to just been able to skip my old ones on and off handsfree.
They are comfy and long lasting though

flatmouse · 31/01/2018 12:30

I bought Aigle Aiglentine after my Hunters died after only 2 years. Went for that model of aigle as i wanted a looser fit than my hunters. V comfortable, only get sock issue if i wear inappropriate trainer socks (and then i can't tuck my trousers into socks which i like to do). Keep feet warm, comfy to walk in and wash up like new. Very impressed (worn 2x a day for the first two years, then 1x a day for the second year and now not worn often as ddog can't go out for proper walks any more). Slight wearing on heel but minimal.
