Forget username, that’s a red herring to make me unidentifiable. How old do you think I am based on my neck and please, more importantly, what on earth can I do about this?

ButteredScone · 23/01/2018 22:06

About 21.

riledandharrassed · 23/01/2018 22:06

35

madmomma · 23/01/2018 22:08

About 50. So sorry if you're younger. I bet you're nice and slim though.

omBreROSE · 23/01/2018 22:18

41/ 42 - going by your name?

Endlessswirling1976 · 23/01/2018 22:19

21? Really?
It’s so saggy and loose I’m contemplating a high end cream but no idea which one and if they are worth it? Riled and harassed very close, I’ve got a few years to go before I’m forty yet but my god my neck hides my age well 😡

Madmomma no probs, I know it’s aging but what can I do about it? Unfortunately, at 11 stone I’m not nice and slim either!

50?

polyhymnia · 23/01/2018 22:26

Sorry, cross post.
No brilliant ideas for miracle creams etc to treat but starting to use a good cream with SPF regularly should certainly make sure it doesn’t get worse.

Loonoonow · 23/01/2018 22:28

I had ultherapy for similar 'necklace lines'. It was expensive and uncomfortable and it did fuck all. Since then I have had RF treatments in the area and it has tightened up but it was all very expensive. A thread lift might do the trick but again, it's expensive and people on MN have told me it didnt work for them.

One thing I would definitely recommend is making sure you use an SPF right down your neck and chest always. Sunlight is the number one cause of aging and wrinkles.

Ummmmgogo · 23/01/2018 22:28

no cream will tighten your skin only surgery can do that. sorry. fwiw it looks like a very normal neck to me, I would say you are between 18 and 65 based on neck appearance xx

Endlessswirling1976 · 23/01/2018 22:38

Aww, thanks umm Smile
Looloo I have also been considering more drastic measures but I’m such a coward I don’t think I could actually go through with it. I’m kind of hoping there is a miracle cure cream.
At the moment I don’t use anything, maybe a quick slather of hand cream when I’m applying that if I remember.

Endlessswirling1976 · 23/01/2018 22:39

Also, I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work for you, how disheartening.

It's a long shot but the QVC beauty pick of the month is a neck and décolletage cream. It might be worth a try?

And at the cosmetic surgery clinic I go to they repeat constantly that there is no point in having any anti aging procedure if you don't back it up with constant SPF 50.

RoseWhiteTips · 23/01/2018 22:55

Early 60s?

ProfessorPickles · 23/01/2018 22:59

I'd guess 40s or 50s

Ellapaella · 23/01/2018 23:01

I think you are in your 40's. I think it's possible if you did some exercises to tone your face and neck muscles that might improve. Can't see how cream would help sorry, no matter what they claim no cream can actually get rid of skin creases.

SciFiFan2015 · 23/01/2018 23:03

Ok. I don't see anything wrong with your neck. It looks like a neck. If I had to, I'd say a young neck though. Younger than 35. (Cos no age spots!)

Don't be so harsh on yourself

Endlessswirling1976 · 23/01/2018 23:03

Rose it certainly looks it, doesn’t it?!
Loonoo, I may follow that advice now as I never have all these years. Endless summers facing the sun enjoying a bronzed (ok burnt!) neck and shoulders sadly seem to have taken their toll. Still too early I think, very depressing. I’ll check qvc out too.

Ellapaella · 23/01/2018 23:06

If your user name has anything to do with it you're 41/42!

Ofthread · 23/01/2018 23:07

Probably about 94

madmomma · 23/01/2018 23:07

I would hold off the expensive stuff and try some layering of oil and cream first. So a layer of any oil, then a layer of any cream. My neck started getting dry and crepey at about 34ish, and I started doing the layering thing and it's really helped. I'd also take a little makeup onto it - just a bit of something to even out the colour.

Endlessswirling1976 · 23/01/2018 23:09

Oh sofabitch I would definitely splash out on that!

Ella I have an Argos tightening device which I might try, my problem is keeping things up, I’m a sod for doing something once putting the device away and finding it again a few years down the line!

Sci-fi, thanks! I’m constantly looking at other people’s necks and honestly no one else’s looks as bad as mine. I’ve even got that disgusting little bum neck thing going on at the top

OP posts:
Ofthread · 23/01/2018 23:11

That was a joke btw!

This is mine, I’m 40. It’s just genetic isn’t it? I have crazy oily skin and I have sunbathed to buggery.

What can I do about this? (Gross neck pic)
Endlessswirling1976 · 23/01/2018 23:14

Of, yours is beautiful! So lucky.
Maybe it is genetic, mine looks similar to my mothers although she is almost 70 Grin

OP posts:
LizzieSiddal · 23/01/2018 23:14

I agree with not using expensive creams.
Just buy a cream you like the smell, texture and smell of.
Then really slather it on, day and night. It will make a difference to how the skin looks as you say you don’t use anything at the moment.
