Have an interview on Wednesday, for an office based job within a hotel.

I coukdnt decide between 2 outfits so bought them both... Both will be worn with black tights, but didnt have any to hand.

Which one is better?

I like then both but prefer the first one for an interview (separates)

Good luck with it

Iwantamarshmallow · 08/01/2018 22:31

I like the dress. The white shirt and skirt combo is a little boaring and everyone will be wearing the same look.

Aturkeyisnotjustforchristmas · 08/01/2018 22:35

The first one looks right for the type of job.

RustyPaperclips · 08/01/2018 22:37

You look lovely in both, but I would say the white shirt and black skirt. Good look at the interview!

Pattyandbump · 08/01/2018 22:41

They're both great but I think the grey dress will look better with black tights than the first outfit.

Good luck!

Kochicoo · 08/01/2018 22:43

Both nice but first one looks more professional. Good luck.

LexieLulu · 08/01/2018 22:50

I was always told to add a pop of colour to your interview outfit... so when recapping interviewees you're more rememberable "ooh the girl with the red cardigan" kinda thing.

I don't know if that works or not

dorislessingscat · 08/01/2018 22:52

Dress.

The other outfit could look waitress-y.

shadesofwinter · 08/01/2018 23:00

I think the dress.

Hope the interview goes well!

Timemachinetoast · 08/01/2018 23:03

Love the dress

madeyemoodysmum · 08/01/2018 23:05

Dress. It's more memorable

MsMarvel · 08/01/2018 23:57

Ooo a bit of a split opinion!

The blouse in the first one has little love hearts on it, cant really see from the picture but I thought it was something a bit different, rather than a plain white blouse?

But I like the dress as well, but wasnt sure if it was interview-y enough?

First one is pretty and professional.

Second is pretty but you could also wear it for dinner so it's not just for the office like outfit 1 presents.

I would err on the side of caution and go with 1 in case you get an interviewer with more conservative tastes. It is still attractive enough not to be frumpy so you've covered both bases with it.

Good luck!

anothernetter · 09/01/2018 00:11

The first one.

Starryskiesinthesky · 09/01/2018 00:34

Both lovely but first one. Good luck!

RustyPaperclips · 09/01/2018 00:39

Wear whatever makes you feel the most comfortable and have faith in yourself Smile

Aturkeyisnotjustforchristmas · 09/01/2018 08:19

Someone once told me that you should look as smart and professional as possible for an interview. I followed her advice and got the job! 🤓

SparklyLights · 09/01/2018 10:33

Are you wearing a suit jacket too? I personally would, for an office job. In most hotels the front of house staff are in suits and look very smart so although this isnt a front of house role, you wouldn’t look out of place in a more conservative outfit (ie blouse and jacket) unless of course it’s a boutique hotel where they might dress more trendy.

I think 1 looks neat and professional. Don’t forget to do your research on the history of the hotel in case they ask @sibwhag Cj you know about X hotel” you can be ready to say “it was established in 1956 and was bought by X group chain in 1998, making it part of a large number of successful hotels across the South East” (or whatever - just basics but that sort of thing makes you stand out as having bothered to read up) and have one or two questions ready - if you take a small neat black notebook and a pen with your questions already written down inside you’ll look very professional and efficient 🙂 sorry if you know all this already but a surprising number if candidates just don’t do it! Good luck!

SparklyLights · 09/01/2018 10:34

Huh? @whatever?! Auto correct Hmm

*In case they ask what you know

AlmostChristmas · 09/01/2018 13:03

Grey dress!

You look beautiful in both, but I agree that the first looks a bit waitress like.

PasDeDeux · 09/01/2018 14:01

Outfit 1 for the interview and outfit 2 is perfect to wear to work when you get the job Smile good luck op!

WhoDoDatLikeDat · 09/01/2018 14:04

Grey dress for sure.

Sorry but the white shirt/black skirt outfit is boring and looks like what a waiter/waitress would wear.

deptfordgirl · 09/01/2018 14:06

I prefer the shirt and skirt as it looks smarter and more appropriate for an interview. Good luck!

Thiswayorthatway · 09/01/2018 14:09

First one suits you best

user1495451339 · 09/01/2018 14:09

I look both, but I think the shirt and skirt look more interview like.
