Have I committed a possible crime against fashion? (With pic)

I've just bought a teddy bear type coat from Next. Is there any hope for me or am I doomed in the fashion world? I actually really love it too. Blush

Ooh sorry NC4
Ooh good, a positive!
Yes I may have been heavily influenced by DS3 who loves his cuddly TY's!!!

I'm sure it's very comfy

TheQueenOfWands · 03/01/2018 14:53

Ah, you look lovely and warm.

Strangers will hug you.

Queenofthedrivensnow · 03/01/2018 14:54

I love the coat. Need brown boots with it

Didiusfalco · 03/01/2018 14:54

It’s possibly not the most attractive item but it’s not offensive. I certainly wouldn’t judge Smile

squoosh · 03/01/2018 14:56

If you love it that's all that matters!

It does look a bit dressing gown-y to me rather than teddyish though.

MrsJayy · 03/01/2018 14:58

My dd has that coat makes me want to pet her 😀 i

KiteMarked · 03/01/2018 14:58

Not for me but it does look cosy!

FartsMeanHearts · 03/01/2018 14:59

It’s looks comfy

BikeRunSki · 03/01/2018 15:06

I love your green boots.

DS(9) has a teddy bear fleece hoody, which generates lots of hugs from enthusiastic aunts and grannies much to his disgruntlement.

LardLizard · 03/01/2018 15:51

Reminds me of Pauline fowler for some reason
Does look cosy and warm and practical though Smile

AFingerofFudge · 03/01/2018 17:04

Pauline Fowler Grin
Well I won't put a housecoat on underneath
And yes to brown boots, good idea!

squoosh · 03/01/2018 17:21

I don't where you can go once someone has dropped a Pauline Fowler bomb.

I've seen some harsh things on S&B in my time...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/01/2018 17:23

It's not for me, but it sounds as though you love it, so it really doesn't matter what a group of random strangers in your computer think of it. Wear it and enjoy!

Fekko · 03/01/2018 17:23

Could look like a streaking Paddington bear...(beat avoid pairing it with wellies and a brown hat). I rather like it though.

NoughtTimesNought · 03/01/2018 17:24

It’s practical, it’s warm and you love it.
Wear it, own it OP! Grin

SparklyLights · 03/01/2018 17:34

I think it would look far better with patent black or black leather boots/accessories. Sharpen it up a bit, provide a bit of contrast. Brown boots with that coat might be reminiscent of a sheep fancy dress.

Knittingteapot · 03/01/2018 17:36

My mum has this and it looks really nice. She wears it with skinny jeans and Chelsea boots.

Oblomov18 · 03/01/2018 17:38

What material is it? Is it like a dressing gown. It's not very fitted. I'm afraid it's very unflattering.

Vitalogy · 03/01/2018 17:39

You'll be getting a hug the whole time you're wearing it, I can't see any negatives, enjoy.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/01/2018 17:41

My number one priority in a winter coat is that it should be warm and have plenty of room underneath for other layers. I also look for good pockets. Nobody looks glamorous when wearing multiple layers in the depths of winter, not if they dress to stay warm, anyway. I think it looks great and I hope you get a lot of enjoyment out of it!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 03/01/2018 17:42

PS Good idea to have a light-coloured coat too. Safer crossing roads in the dark.

Weezol · 03/01/2018 17:45

I would just brace yourself for a lot more physical contact from family. I have something similar and I was sat next to my mum on the train and she kept stroking my arm. I didn't mind at all, and she had done it quite unconsciously. I told her to carry on regardless.

She really misses their dog and has decided she's too old to get another. I am happy to be a substitute Smile
