Grin @honthehuns!

PersonaNongrata33 · 17/01/2018 19:21

I’ve name changed and am posting this here as it’s the only way to state my case as AH has blocked me. I sent a message saying I thought slagging off MN was slagging off your target audience- I complemented her and her blog - I do like it she makes me laugh sometimes (and in a good way) - and I’ve been blocked. I was polite, constructive and complimentary.

So this is what blogging is like???

I’ve never been banned from anything in my life - I’m actually really quite hurt as I was trying to be helpful.

Lemongincosy · 17/01/2018 19:29

I cannot stand most bloggers. I used to watch ruth crilly and caroline hirons. I stopped because the crilly one started doing paid promotions for random things like gluten free pasta or something which looked disgusting, posting her paid for holidays and paid for sprees at karen millen etc. And adding self-depreciating hashtags to everything talking about how tired she was from working (getting the train going to “meetings”). She wrote about how she was so stressed and busy that she hired someone to help her learn how to tidy and organise her own office.

Caroline Hirons did a story i found very nasty calling out a very young follower as “yeah? Yeah little girl? What did you say?” Type thing because they had asked her about botox. And her brand overview videos are like watching qvc.

Sometimes i watch bloggers to know what not to buy. I personally am put off by a ton of PR and won’t buy it if there has been gifts / paid for promotions. I also don’t buy from cult beauty anymore because of the ch gift boxes.

Ithasbeenalongtime · 17/01/2018 19:31

I'm not sure mumsnet is AH's target market. I'm not sure what market she is targeting tbh, with her cheesy catalogue poses Confused. She's very rude to other bloggers as well from what I have seen.

PersonaNongrata33 · 17/01/2018 19:33

I’m just slightly taken aback that she blocked me - for being polite, constructive but offering a different opinion.

ElspethFlashman · 17/01/2018 19:35

Who is AH again?

Ithasbeenalongtime · 17/01/2018 19:36

I think they just like their own echo chamber. That's basically what all social media does, it amplifies differences. Very destructive.

DillyDilly · 17/01/2018 19:37

AH is extremely rude at times.

I’m not sure who her target market is or what her style is really.

PersonaNongrata33 · 17/01/2018 19:41

Basically what I said was publicly viciously slagging off MN was damaging to her brand - which I stand by - if you’re a business being mean and nasty about people who pay your wages can only be damaging to your brand and is not a professional way to behave.

EdinaMonsoon · 17/01/2018 19:42

Who is AH & MLC?

PersonaNongrata33 · 17/01/2018 19:46

Actually this is exactly what I said:

—————
Anyway please don’t be so defensive- my message was meant to be friendly and generous and I hoped it was taken that way. I did find your latest comment about MN rude.

——————-
And then she blocked me Confused

AgathaMystery · 17/01/2018 19:46

No idea. Can't we use names?

PersonaNongrata33 · 17/01/2018 19:47

Anna Hart - I was being a lazy typist Smile

EdinaMonsoon · 17/01/2018 20:04

PersonaNongrata That doesn’t surprise me. I unfollowed her last summer. Like DillyDilly says, I couldn’t work out what she actually did/who her audience was. I had a run-in with her on the subject of politics.

Lemongincosy · 17/01/2018 20:28

I just looked at ‘AH’ instagram. Fuck, it makes me cringe that so many grown women fall for this. The staged photos and the wistful looking vacant into the distance photos. Cringe cringe cringe. I hope it all falls out of faaashun soon, blogging i mean.

CourtneyLoveIsMySpiritAnimal · 17/01/2018 20:51

Fuck, it makes me cringe that so many grown women fall for this

Do they fall for it, though? A lot of the 'support' and followers and likes will come from either fellow bloggers/influencers or people who are wanting to make it as bloggers/influencers. As someone on the White Mousse FB page said, it's just a giant circle jerk.

For example, when Pukka's parenting book first came out, she was thanking people who'd reviewed it on Amazon. So Instagrammers were going to Amazon, leaving a 5 star reviews along with their Instagram user name for when Pukka publicly thanked them.

It just made me cringe that these people were so thirsty for attention.

Lemongincosy · 17/01/2018 21:08

@courtney true but there are also some fans who fawn over them. It’s cringe because you know the blogger is thinking “twats $$$”. Or worse when they make statements along the lines of knowing their readers aren’t stupid and they would never insult anyones intelligence by promoting a product they don’t personally believe in. Bore off. A lot of them are pretty spinless. And the rare bad review is just to punish a brand that hasn’t taken them on as an influencer. A lot of them now if they’re not getting paid, there’s no product placement.

I get that it’s a job at the end of the day but i think some of them are a bit in love with themselves and it’s uuuurgh. Would prefer if there were ad placements in banner etc on landing pages rather than paid for posts.

I thought Anna H was interesting; (a) so self absorbed they cannot resist seeing what's being said about them; (b) saying how do people have time to slag others off on Mumsnet, um the same way infinite "influencers" have them time to burble shite to people they've never met.

I see she's at Soho Farmhouse or just The Farmhouse as she said, wonder if it's a two night beak with boyfriend there to take the photos as per her how to blag a mini break post, no #collab #spon #ad as far as I can see.

DillyDilly · 17/01/2018 22:21

Think Ms H is there with her sister.

Ithasbeenalongtime · 17/01/2018 22:25

I just don't get AH's twitter feed She has posted the same tweet 4 days in a row with a clickbait tweet about a wedding outfit. When you click on the link (don't) it takes you through a R.Style.me link, probably putting a cookie on your computer and therefore sending her commission on any Whistles purchase you may happen to make for the next 30-90 days (as we found out from earlier posts on this thread). So she is basically spamming people's twitter feeds with affiliate links (and not disclosing them in the tweets). Are her tweets sponsored by Whistles as well? Who knows?! This happens over and over in her twitter feed with embedded affiliate links in loads of her tweets by the looks of it.

This is really the hot topic of the moment. Started right here???

ABuckToothedGirlinLuxembourg · 18/01/2018 00:45

Another one who thinks Anna Hart is very rude. I’m hoping this blogger bubble bursts soon to be honest, I’m not sure what message it all sends to young women. What do you want to be when you grow up...a social influencer Confused

ABuckToothedGirlinLuxembourg · 18/01/2018 00:47

Oh and I still want to know what they are all laughing at in their photos. Probably the mugs buying all the shit they get given. Lots of topshop on insta I see, they get 8% commission for that I think?
