What do you think of this jumpsuit?

I'm 20 weeks pregnant, reasonable bump but not enough to justify maternity wear just yet, and I've got a black tie event which I thought I was sorted for (was going to wear a knee length blue lace dress) but it turns out everyone is wearing full on black tie/long dresses!

I've bought this jumpsuit in the phase eight sale and it is so comfortable but now I've got it home I'm worried it's a bit 80s and not suited to a size 14-16 pregnant woman!

It looks fantastic. But I don't think its suitable for a pregnant woman.

elmo1980 · 14/12/2017 22:12

That's interesting in what way? Do you think its too short?

The black dress is gorgeous. Definitely go with that.

Redcrayons · 14/12/2017 22:25

definitely the dress, you look great.

The jumpsuit Doesn't flatter you at all (I don't like jumpsuits in general though).

LoveProsecco · 14/12/2017 22:25

Black dress is very pretty! Though I would wear with 15 denier black tights & dark shoes as it's black tie

Viserion · 14/12/2017 22:37

It looks fantastic. But I don't think its suitable for a pregnant woman.

Confused why on earth not? Surely if OP looks, and more importantly, feels fantastic wearing it, then is is perfectly suitable for a pregnant woman? Or should pregnant women only wear baggy full length smocks from the 1970s Hmm?

slithytove · 14/12/2017 22:52

I would wear sheer nudes because I get cold but if you don’t then your legs look fab]
I love those shoes with it too

slithytove · 14/12/2017 22:54

Off to buy it in black or and purple!

ItsAHardKn0ckLife1 · 14/12/2017 22:57

How on earth isn’t it suitable if she looks fantastic in it? Hmm

PinkAvocado · 14/12/2017 23:02

I think no tights is better than flesh coloured tights-especially when your legs are clearly perfect! Like the shoes with the dress too. Go in confidence that you look amazing.

littlekellysmum · 14/12/2017 23:05

It looks awesome. I think it is suitable for pregnancy as well at this point before you near the due date.

LoniceraJaponica · 14/12/2017 23:06

"I think no tights is better than flesh coloured tights"

What is it with the MN obsessional hatred of flesh coloured tights? Hmm

It is December. I have just driven through sleet to come home. Not wearing tights in this weather is simply not an option. You can get some pretty decent sheer nude tights these days.

PinkAvocado · 14/12/2017 23:09

Lonicera-how does my comment represent a ‘mumsnet obsessional hatred of flesh coloured tights?’ It’s my personal view Confused Do sheer tights really give so much warmth that my opinion poses a health and safety risk?

LoniceraJaponica · 14/12/2017 23:27

It is a commonly held view on mumsnet. Hence my response.

littlekellysmum · 19/12/2017 20:17

PinkAvocado - Your view point is a coincidence with LoniceraJaponica's opinion about MNers.
