I wash they would do an up to date version of what not to wear

Trinny still goes on about a capsule trouser and a statement lip bless her. I would hate them to be on telly again they were soo mean

LardLizard · 13/12/2017 13:28

Oh I think they are great, although not sure if there advice is a bit dated now
As don’t seem to see many wrap tops or scoop next lines around

Lard lizard check out Trinny on her YouTube channel she does beauty and fashion tips reviews on there. She's a bad thing very hyper but she dies make me laugh!

kissmelittleass · 13/12/2017 13:36

Crikey I mean she's a 'mad' thing and does not dies!! Just home after an op must be still doped up!!

barefoofdoctor · 13/12/2017 15:49

What is a 'John neckline' please?

ZaraW · 13/12/2017 16:49

The American version with Stacey London was much kinder and she has great style.

cornflower123 · 13/12/2017 16:57

Yes, also wondering what's a John neckline? Confused

I like Trinny still, but don't think she has the mass-appeal anymore sadly. And Suz is now an author!

LardLizard · 13/12/2017 17:35

I do watch her on YouTube but I’m not hat interested in 1001 different types of eye cream !! I want to see her dressing. Different body shapes in 2017
!!!

MyBrilliantDisguise · 13/12/2017 17:37

A 'john' neckline is a 'high' neckline when your hand is one key over on the keyboard!

NC4now · 13/12/2017 18:06

I’d like someone to do an updated one. I still bear their rules in mind, but I’d like to see some current trends worked for different body shapes ie mine.

Salvadore · 13/12/2017 18:09

Where can you rewatch them/find out their rules? I watched it as a svelt teenager but I’m more barrel shaped now

Dozer · 13/12/2017 18:27

I think a lot of their tips were good. Retailers offer too few necklines, almost all high, almost impossible to find low scoop or V neck or even boat neck.

TittyGolightly · 13/12/2017 18:30

Current trends are a fucking nightmare for big boobed gals. Polo necks and scarves. Bleugh.

be47 · 13/12/2017 18:31

The high necklines don't suit big boobs thing isn't 100% true though - the right one can look great, I recently started wearing turtle neck jumpers after years of being too scared to!

TittyGolightly · 13/12/2017 18:32

Depends on the boobs. My Js need some skin on show else they appear to be around my waist!

SaturndayNight · 13/12/2017 18:42

I cannot understand the high necklines everywhere. Presumably they are cheaper to cut? Even M&S - whose shoppers have plenty of heaving bosoms between them - mainly stock around necks.

Why???? Anyone above a C cup looks much better in a scoop or V neck.

Floisme · 13/12/2017 18:50

I still have a soft spot for them. Until their early shows came along, I could see I looked better in some things than others but I had no idea why. I viewed it as something akin to alchemy, a secret only for fashion people.

The clothes themselves have dated (although I'm sure some of them will be back before long) but I think the basic advice still stands: know your body shape; show off your best features and play down what you don't like; wear a bra that fits.

They were always ready to laugh at themselves and I like people who can do that. And when they didn't like something, they didn't pull their punches, which is a quality today's bloggers and magasines would do well to remember.

And I believe time will prove them right about skinnies.

CrabappleCake · 13/12/2017 18:55

Slash necks work well on big boobs too. I just have acres of boobs though in most high necks unless it ends at the right spot on my hips to give me a waist. A long v shaped necklace can help. And a very good bra.

MikeUniformMike · 13/12/2017 19:09

Frills and high necklines, and those pleats around the neckline do nothing for those of us with ample bosoms.

LardLizard · 14/12/2017 08:52

Holly willougby or however you spell it
Has big chest but often wears high necks and they look nice on her

But perhaps her long hair breaks it up !!

OP posts:
NC4now · 14/12/2017 09:14

I have long hair and some higher necks are ok with my hair down.
I sometimes wear them at work too, where my lanyard breaks them up!

DrRisotto · 14/12/2017 09:20

I too, am hating the exclusively high necklines in all the clothes lately.

SilentlyScreamingAgain · 14/12/2017 09:34

Jerseysilkvelour · 14/12/2017 09:34

I think their advice still holds true. Basically, ignore trends and dress for your body shape. I miss the early days of what not to wear, was fab.

Housewife2010 · 14/12/2017 09:47

Trinny still gives advice ( or did until recently) on This Morning. The clothes she chose for the women weren't always flattering though. Some of them were too fitted and highlighted the areas they may have preferred to conceal.
