Cleanser - what do you use and will you repurchase?

I'm always after new products to try. Rarely repurchase anything these days!

At the moment I'm using:

Waitrose pure hydration hot cloth cleanser - I LOVE this, its £5 and it's amazing, I have repurchased this actually. I like it better than the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser.

M&S formula hylauronic acid hot cloth cleanser - I love this and would buy it again.

M&S formula hylauronic acid foaming face wash - this is ok, I'll use it up but won't repurchase as it stings my eyes and I'm too lazy to use a separate eye makeup remover, so I mostly use this in the morning.

I like to double cleanse, usually I remove makeup with a micellar wipe and then use my cleanser.

What do you use?

I am currently using Nuxe cleansing Balm from M and S and am in love - not irritating , smells beautiful. I don't live in UK but when I am back in 6 months will be stocking up!

TossDaily · 17/11/2017 08:23

At the moment, Bioderm micellar water and cotton pads to take makeup off, then Waitrose Balance Me cleanser.

My skin's the best it's been for ages since I started double cleansing. I had no idea.

OCSockOrphanage · 17/11/2017 10:01

Also using Bioderma micellar water, plus DHC Oil for second cleanse. In either order; it doesn't seem to matter.

keepmoving · 17/11/2017 10:04

Bioderma water and Avene gentle cleansing milk - bulk buy both whenever on 3 for 2 in Boots. Can it be without!

keepmoving · 17/11/2017 10:05

*Can’t not can it

MorrisZapp · 17/11/2017 10:06

I use dermalogica pre cleanse balm, it's absolutely heavenly. If I haven't worn make up I don't bother. In the shower, I use simple face wash. I've repurchased both and will continue to repurchase.

Dontknowwhattodonowok · 17/11/2017 10:06

Clinique Take The Day Off balm to remove my makeup, and then Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip as my second cleanse with a hot flannel in between. Both are amazing and cannot live without!

ElspethFlashman · 17/11/2017 10:08

Mac Cleanse Off oil which is amazing and lasts for ages. I've repurchased it for years.

I also have that Garnier miceller gel one in the shower, the one with the pink pump. It doesn't sting my eyes and is sits well in the shower basket thingy. I would repurchase that.

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/11/2017 10:28

Liz Earle hcc in the morning
Various eye make up removers: la Roche posay clarins followed by Eve Lom balm with muslin/ flannel.
I like Liz Earle and will probably repurchase

I don’t like eve lon scent and will return to my favourite Clinique take the day off balm.
Yet to alight upon an ideal liquid for heavy eye make up days.
I too love new skincare ( and makeup) so am keeping an eye on this thread

OCSockOrphanage · 17/11/2017 12:28

And to answer the OP's question, the Bioderma is on multiple repeat buys, maybe for the DHC Oil, though it's replacement will probably also be an oil cleanser.

peppykoala · 17/11/2017 12:36

Avene gentle cleansing milk and then my favourite gorgeous Sanoflore Aciana Botanical gel-oil cleanser, leaves my skin so soft and I love the smell. Both removed with flannel & water.

And just remembered I have a different cleanser in the morning - Sanoflore again with their Magnifica Gel cleanser, it's minty and wakes me up!

StarAboveParvati · 17/11/2017 12:38

Elemis Pro-Collagen cleansing balm (hot cloth style). Used to use Eve Lom but this has nicer ingredients and smells better.

YouWereRight · 17/11/2017 12:39

Ponds cold cream. I always have a lot in, I use it on a cotton bud for tidying up eyeliner too.

M&S formula cleansing oil, I'd buy it again. It leaves my fave feeling lovely and hydrated, and removes make up brilliantly.

MakeMisogynyAHateCrime · 17/11/2017 12:41

Mario Badescu Special Cleansing Lotion and Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean and I love both and will happily purchase again.

LoniceraJaponica · 17/11/2017 12:42

The Bodyshop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

I have tried loads of cleansers, and this is the best by miles. It does what it says on the tin (and yes, it comes in a tin Grin)

I tried on the recommendation of other mumsnetters and it justifies its 5 star reviews. It melts on contact with your skin, and the makeup just dissolves away.

I don't understand the big deal about "double cleansing". Surely you would do that anyway to ensure you have got rid of all your make-up? I have been doing that for years.

JMAngel1 · 17/11/2017 13:06

For those of you that use an oil or balm cleanser, do you use a second cleanser to remove any residue? I have really oily skin very acne prone, but its looking very patchy and dehydrated so considering an oil based cleanser to add some moisture but I'm worried about more spots. Would I use one and then use a gel or soap cleanser to remove any residue?

wasMissD · 17/11/2017 13:23

Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm is heavenly to use at night, as it smells of lavender. Works so well too!
La Roche Posay face wash is good too. I use effeclar range as I have oily skin.

YouWereRight · 17/11/2017 13:46

JM, nah, I just use the oil, I've never found that I need to wash off the oil cleanser. It pretty much all comes off with a warm flannel. But my skin is quite dry, so that may not be much use to you.

applecatchers36 · 17/11/2017 13:50

Bioderma micellar water
Nip and fab dragons blood cleansing pads

ChishandFips33 · 17/11/2017 14:03

I repeat purchase the La Roche Posay cleansing gels - skin has never been clearer so daren't try anything else!!

Jerseysilkvelour · 17/11/2017 14:10

oooh so many ideas! I'm making a list. Not sure what to try next, one of mine is running out though.

I love the bioderma micellar water but I don't buy it anymore because it's not cruelty free (as it's sold in mainland China). However I have yet to find one that even compares to it!

Talisin · 17/11/2017 14:11

Body Shop Camomile cleansing butter followed by Mizon Egg White Bubble Cleanser. Both bought multiple times now.

OCSockOrphanage · 17/11/2017 14:28

JMAngel, the DHC oil cleanser emulsifies with water and is removed with a flannel, but my skin is normal to dry so that's not a problem I have.

jenandjess · 17/11/2017 14:40

Decleor oil cleanser is amazing. If I’m motivated to do a double cleanse using a Lancome cream cleanser, the cotton wool pad never has any makeup on it ... the Decleor lifts everything!

ScattyMcScatty · 17/11/2017 14:50

My skin is mostly normal, can get a little dry and maybe more sensitive in winter and I've been using three cleansers for a while. These are all full size but I'll be repurchasing all of them again, they're all gentle, get every last trace of make up and don't make my skin feel tight or dry at all.

Emma Hardy Moringa Cleansing Balm
Elemis Omega-Rich Cleansing Oil
Cetaphil

At night I double cleanse with the oil or balm followed by Cetaphil and in the morning whichever I reach for first. My skin loves them.

Now I just need to find the perfect serum.
