Hi All, I have booked an appointment to have fillers done at Tracy Mountford's clinic but couldnt get her, have one of her nurses instead. Feeling v nervous, any experiences you can share? Will i bruise? its more my collapsing mouth area!

Are you going today?! I'm v interested in fillers for marionette/nasolabial lines. Hope it goes well, don't be nervous! Let us know how it goes.

hackneyhousewife · 15/11/2017 13:16

no not for a few weeks but will let you know!

Where are you getting fillers? I've had them twice in my mouth to noise lines and around four times in my cheeks and have always been very happy with the result. They are very subtle so I wouldn't go expecting a massive change in your looks. I have bruised a little bit each time but it's just a tiny bruise where the needle goes in so can easily be covered with make up. The results are instant (unlike botox) and if you don't like the effect you can have a further injection to dissolve the fillers. Don't know much about this as I've always been happy with the result. I bloody love them and it's just the price that stops me getting them more often. Good luck!

esk1mo · 15/11/2017 13:23

can you get them for lines around your eyes?

Wellhellothere1 · 15/11/2017 13:26

No the lines around your eyes would be too fine I imagine for fillers. Fillers work better for deep lines and to give volume in cheeks. I've had botox in my crow's feet and this works well.

esk1mo · 15/11/2017 13:29

thank you. so the fine lines/wrinkles would they disappear with botox?

i have one prominent line that annoys me and id love it to disappear!

Wellhellothere1 · 15/11/2017 13:32

It depends where the deep line is esk1mo Botox works best on dynamic lines near a muscle so 11s or forehead lines are best for botox. If the lines are elsewhere, botox wouldn't work.

You will get everything explained to you at your consultation hopefully.

You can get fillers for under eyes lines(not crowfeet lines-botox is available for those),but it is very tricky procedure and only done by highly specialist plastic surgeons..Im in North of England and only been recommended one plastic surgeon in Manchester..

cessie322 · 15/11/2017 15:18

My sister got her nose to mouth lines done recently here in Dublin and it looks great. Big difference but very subtle.

I'm 38 and considering it ,did botox for a year for forehead lines and I look younger now..

hackneyhousewife · 15/11/2017 17:34

I am getting them for my nose to mouth lines and around my mouth, I am 41. I just don't want anyone to know, and bruising might be a give away!

You are very likely to have some bruising, I am wanting my above lip lines filled, had it done once but the woman used the wrong filler and I had to have it removed it was awful, and the bruising was very noticeable, you might be lucky, and have very little,
I want it done again but too scared now
I will look at the website where you are going

sweatylemon · 15/11/2017 18:07

Have you got Helen?
She is excellent.
TBH am not a great fan of fillers, however they last ages!

hackneyhousewife · 15/11/2017 18:29

Yes I have Helen :) I am not sure if I am a fan either which is why I am nervous! Have you had them done sweatylemon? I was advised to address my concerns (which are getting me down) and I have heard they look good and subtle!

I'm 43 and have been getting them done for the last 8 years or so. I think it just depends on how your face is. I don't think there is a preferred age to start. My cheeks lost volume as I aged and as I have quite a long, thin face anyway the fillers in my cheeks
definitely made me look more youthful and plump. The mouth to nose lines helped too but think the practitioner needs to be quite skilled at doing these as you could look a bit monkey like if they put in too much. I've never had that though!
I would agree bruising is almost inevitable. Try arnica before and after and get a good concealer. The bruising I've had looks more like a spot than an obvious needle puncture mark.

justme93 · 15/11/2017 19:14

I am booked in for both botox and fillers next week )over two weeks). I’m 45 and the time is right for me. The lip lines really are starting to bother me.. the botox am added extra. I researched long and hard beforehand so I’m not feeling nervous about it, was told to expect a little bruising on the lip area and arnica tablets to be taken for the week leading up to the injections

Definitely take arnica tablets. You can buy them at boots. I've had fillers 4 times the first two times I never used it and swelling was bad and took ages to go down and last two times I took it and got next to no swelling and back to normal the next day!

notapizzaeater · 15/11/2017 22:43

I’ve got a deep line one side of my mouth - could this be filled

zippyswife · 16/11/2017 07:00

How frequently do you need to do the fillers/Botox to maintain the effect and what kind of price are these? I always thought I’d never turn to these measures but as I see my face collapsing before my eyes I’m quickly changing my opinion on this!!

mjtwin · 16/11/2017 07:02

I've found the biggest factor of price is Location! London rates are a lot higher than other cities

justme93 · 16/11/2017 07:15

@zippyswife I have been told the botox will last 6-12 months (depending on individual).. fillers again depending on the person but much less 3-6 months.
