Sorry missed out the prices.. £225 all three areas of botox (with free top ups if required). Lip line filler £250. All after care is free and I got a 10% discount for booking both together

lovemylover · 16/11/2017 08:26

Fillers are supposed to last up to 18 months ,botox up to 6 months

zippyswife · 16/11/2017 10:50

Thanks for the info... I think this is something I need to look into!

I may change my mind in a few years (I'm 41). But I've been put off by the Trinny/Madonna/Coutney cox filler disasters where they look all puffy and 'pillow faced'. The eyes seem to get smaller.

In going for laser facials to try and stimulate collagen and get the skin looking good rather than injectables. I'd rather strengthen the structure of the skin. Never say never though.

Im having an Icon laser
(Called 3forme) it combines IPL for sun damage with radio frequency waves (heats up the skin) which produces new collagen. I think it's quite new. Hardly any down time unlike previous fractional lasers.

Having it in about 3 weeks. Apparently though you carry on seeing results for 6 months as the skin ups the collagen production.

I'm booked to see Helen next week, it's my second time seeing her. She does my lips - naturally, minimally, DH didn't notice(!) I just lost the cats bum crinkled slightly drooped corners look and the wrinkle on my top lip.

I did not get any bruising but I did religiously follow the advice on do's and don'ts and cold compresses.

It hurts like a beeyatch, even with the numbing cream on but no pain no gain!

sweatylemon · 16/11/2017 21:22

Have had Botox with Helen a couple of times a year for the last few years, just very subtle. (Can still move my face)
Tried Nose to mouth fillers. Not a huge difference at first, so had a Top up.
Was a bit lumpy for a while, after a few months it was fine, but from time to time it still feels a bit lumpy

hackneyhousewife · 16/11/2017 21:53

Thanks sweatylemon was it Helen that did the fillers? And could you see the lumps? Maybe I should go for Botox instead, the fillers are due to be in my cheeks. It's a mind field!

Yes it was Helen
She is really excellent, however lumps & bumps are normal I think for fillers. No one else could see them, but I could when I stretched my skin taught.
I prefer Botox TBH
The fillers improved with time, but probably
Won’t have them again.

hackneyhousewife · 20/11/2017 18:17

oK thanks so much sweatylemon, appreciate it.

Hi All, so i had it done and was really worried after as my cheeks were swollen and red, it went down after 12 hours and I don't look much different than before. I think i may need a slight top up but will see how it goes. It didnt hurt with the numbing cream, just weird and I am taking arnica religiously so minimal bruising so far. The Jury is still out!

NeverTimeForTea · 13/12/2017 14:06

Let us know how it pans out.
I tried fillers 3 or 4 years ago and didn't see any difference so never bothered again. I was late 40's.
Keep wondering if it's worth having another try.

lovemylover · 13/12/2017 14:42

I am going this afternoon to have fillers in my lip lines, really nervous after last time, but a different lady this time,-a nurse where my daughter goes
Will update when I am back, the last time I had huge bruises, but as I explained in earlier post she used the wrong filler [too thick] and went very deep with the needle

lovemylover · 14/12/2017 11:49

Well . not 100% happy, but I didn't have the strongest one to begin with, as ones I had 2 years ago was a disaster, but maybe doesn't work as well on older people, [think pensioner lol ]
Looks a bit puffy, so hope that goes down, she said give it 2 weeks, still got lines but softened, and a bit if bruising, not much
Had a bit put in lip edge so lip is lifted a bit,

The OP has reported back- few posts above.
I had dermal fillers by Dr Mountford. I had cheek fillers to give me a lift. Injections are top of cheekbones.I had something called separation at the top of my cheeks where the fat falls away.

I had them done 3 times, and also had tear troughs once.

I was pleased. Got about 12-18 months from cheek fillers but only 6 months from tear troughs. Would not have them done again as worried about it being so close to the eyes, though she IS an expert.

I found you need to book anywhere from 3-4 months to have Dr Mountford herself.

I had a lot of redness, heat and some pain with the fillers as she has to go deep to avoid lumps. It went into about a week. No bruising.

Cost is the biggest issue; it was around £750 each time which was 1ml each side and I'd get 12-15 months from it.

Dustbunny1900 · 30/12/2017 20:20

I thought fillers were for volume (you can have great smooth young skin and still need volume and softness for a youthful face) and Botox was to smooth out and prevent more wrinkles by paralyzing/weakening face muscles?
I’ve just turned 30 and after a tremendous weight loss I’m getting fillers done. Im hoping for smthg like restalyn or sculptra as juvaderm faded too quickly.
I have these sunken divets in my cheeks and hate them! No wrinkles but facial fullness is what signals youth.

I read it stimulates collagen , so should improve after a few sessions and I won’t need to continue

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 30/12/2017 22:16

I had a consultation recently as I was thinking of having Botox for the first time, my practitioner also suggested a small amount of filler in nose to mouth lines, I was totally sold on the idea as had never even remotely considered them before as I like a previous poster said was put of by Madonna, Courtney and most of all Carol Vorderman! When I got home I did some research on facial fillers and although the chances are extremely small, there is a tiny chance of permanent immediate blindness if it goes wrong, this was enough to put me off totally as I am quite risk adverse anyway, but I felt gutted as I really wanted them! I wish I was brave enough to go ahead as I know the chances are so small, but I just dare not risk it, so have felt pretty fed up as I don’t think I could ever do it now, wish I was a bit braver on the filler front!

hackneyhousewife · 15/01/2018 21:54

Hi All, so I feel like I don't look any different really and am going back to talk about top ups. For those who have been to Dr TM, have you had to pay for top ups when reviewed?
