How fat is too fat for jeans?

I wear dresses that are knee length because I think 'I can be fat and wear horrible clothes or I can be fat and wear this nice thing', but for some reason I don't wear jeans.

My legs are massive. I usually wear a size 18/20 top/dress. I just measured my legs and it's 27 inches round the middle of my thigh and 19 on my calf! Blush

I do however need casual stuff to schlep about in and to wear to the park/shops etc.

Am I just too fat thorough? Will you be able to see my cellulite?

DD is similar size. She lives in Eden jeggings from Dorothy Perkins.
Next 360 degree jeans.

I get a feeling that you do not want to wear a Jeans not because of your size but probably because you don't feel comfortable. I mean the texture and the cloth being slightly heavier than the other counterparts. Think about it and ask yourself if its the reason.

CuckooClockChimes · 16/10/2017 21:18

Anyone can wear jeans, OP! If you don't get on with the M&S ones, the curve jeans in New Look might be worth a try

genericname · 16/10/2017 21:31

Nope that's not the reason Emma Confused

Emma I think you may have something there. I found I had to try lots of jeans on before finding comfy ones for me. I have a problem that I can no longer wear belts or have pressure on my upper abdomen. So, the shape I am (pear) means that I have to adapt the waistband. It’s fine because I wear tops over the waistband so, it’s not seen anyway.

OP, Sainsbury’s do the softest, softest skinny’s and I’ve a few pairs now, to go on into winter.

Lady M&S are on the large side but...They DO shrink if you dry them in a drier. I’ve had a couple of different styles from them and found them a size smaller after drying. Gave them to my much slimmer sister 😊

Suki if you squeeze into the M&S ones after they've been in the drier they loosen up quite quickly. It's just those first few minutes that they feel too small.

OnionShite · 17/10/2017 10:15

M and S trousers are generously sized, especially the elasticated ones. I'm in a size 10 pair of their leggings at the moment and have size 12 jeggings from there. Yet I wear a 14-16 elsewhere! So if ordering online may be worth sizing down. I expect if you're normally an 18, a 16 in treggings would fit.

OnionShite · 17/10/2017 10:18

Oops I didn't notice page 3.

JaneEyre70 · 17/10/2017 11:16

Don't tumble dry the M & S ones whatever you do. Mine were a good 3" shorter afterwards and I had to replace them!

SukiTheDog · 17/10/2017 12:28

JaneEyre. I thought I was putting on weight as my M&S ones goes tighter and tighter each time they were washed and dried!

SukiTheDog · 17/10/2017 19:47

Millie thanks. I had to give up on them after shrinkage. I have a scar which prevents anything being worn that puts pressure on my abdomen. So, rather than elasticated waists I opt for “customising” the Sainsbury’s ones. If I make a dogs dinner of it....they’re not too expensive 😊

Dingdongdigeridoo · 18/10/2017 18:25

Stretchy jeans in general get wrecked by the tumble dryer. Learned this the hard way. I’m an idiot.

Also, bras.

welshmist · 19/10/2017 13:05

tis not the size but the rolls that ooze over that I try to avoid, if they fit that is grand, if they are too small I feel awkward in them.

SukiTheDog · 19/10/2017 21:42

I agree, comfort is everything for stuff you wear everyday and relax in.
