Update on my invisible woman syndrome

A few weeks back I posted at my sadness at seemingly becoming invisible middle aged woman.
I decided I wasn't going to simply disappear without a fight so did something about it. This last few weeks I've had more compliments than I remember having had for years.
This is what I have done so far:
Got rid of all the clothes and shoes that didn't make me feel attractive when I wore them, it turns out I had a lot of those.

Upped my use of retin A

Made sure I double cleanse, exfoliatie and massage my skin daily.

Restart using vitamin c and msm on my face daily

Do my daily facial exercises- my neck has already toned up hugely.

Invested in some good quality make up

Henna- ed my hair

So I thought I would give some hope perhaps to others who are feeling a bit meh about themselves.

Good for you. I need to do this. I am forty and frumpy!

ProperLavs · 28/09/2017 06:47

Thank you. I have a stinking cold, the first cold since April. I will be ill on my birthday. I have been dreading this birthday.

I used 0.1% tret from the get go. Took a while to build up decent tolerance.
i completely understand that other might have more sensitive skins though.

I have tried a few things from Deciem in the past including the hand chemistry and hylamide. Can't say i noticed any difference. I don't have funds for the NIOD but have used copper peptides years ago and there is some debate about how safe they are for the skin iirk.

Retin A is a prescription only product in the U.K. and should not be used in women of childbearing age.
Please be careful if buying this product over the internet.
There are lots of cosmetic products around as pp have mentioned e.g. The Ordinary, best to stick to those.

So basically, you've bought into the advertising lies that - if you splurge on products - you'll look "25 again" "ageless" and if you don't, then you'll be an invisible woman.

Quite karma .some people have issues which make them nasty to other people. That will take a lot more to resolve than a few tweaks to the daily routine, sad really.

Nothing mean or nasty about my post.

OP herself said she bought expensive make-up to show herself she was worth it. Wonder where I've heard that advertising slogan ...

ProperLavs · 28/09/2017 13:34

If you don't think you were nasty then you need to look at how you define nasty. I would rather do what I am doing than post what you have. It was 't necessary, serves no useful purpose and wasn't intended to be kind or helpful.

You can use retin a as a younger woman, they just want you to make sure you aren't pregnant. Plenty of women under 50 use it! But I do agree with getting it prescribed. Oh and it's not just an expensive rip off , it's been proven to work , good for you op there's nothing wrong with caring how you look and doing whatever you want to feel good and confident/happy.

LentilBaby · 28/09/2017 15:18

@Dustbunny1900 Agreed it is used by younger women when prescribed. I wrote my last post very quickly this morning, concerned about people buying it themselves over the internet!
Apologies!!
