I have tried on every skirt in the known universe and this was the nicest.

I have bought it.

As you were.

harpsichordcarrier · 06/04/2007 18:30

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 06/04/2007 18:37

Thank the Lord!

harpsichordcarrier · 06/04/2007 18:37

yes of course you can wear that skirt with a black top, that was the point
and navy is hideoso aitch, expunge it from your wrdrobe forthwith. all women wearing navy look like BA cabin crew.
imo

harpsichordcarrier · 06/04/2007 18:38

am going to keep bumping this thread all night I reckon

So pleased you found the skirt Franny, was touch and go for a while, but looks like it all came together at the last minute like the A-team. What happened about the next dress? Is it going back?

So agree with HC about navy. It always makes me look like a square school girl or like i work in debenhams.

NotQuiteCockney · 06/04/2007 18:59

The navy in the skirt looks black, anyway, as it's next to lighter colours in the print.

FrannyandZooey · 06/04/2007 19:02

But HC I can't wear the navy sash with the black top, can I?

The Next dress and everything else is going back. Dp was kind enough to work out that I will have spent over £15 on delivery and returns charges by the end of the week

no, you can't wear a navy sash with a black top.
you have a squillion lovely scarves though?

NotQuiteCockney · 06/04/2007 19:24

Hey, just see this whole thing as an educational experience for you, and a bunch of other people, that online shopping for clothes sucks.

(Oh, that being said, I got some lovely shirts for the boys for this wedding, from a website recommended on here, and they are really nice.)

AitchTwoOh · 06/04/2007 19:29

i love navy and red, for that nautical look! really i do. but no stripes, obv.

enjoy your flight, modom.

harpsichordcarrier · 06/04/2007 19:46

hey aitch, you got a ladder in your 20 denier navy tights love

AitchTwoOh · 06/04/2007 19:52

gawd, i'd never wear navy tights. or shoes, come to think if it. i don't actually have a lot of navy in my wardrobe, but i'm not phobic about it either i'd have to say. unlike franny. i wonder what colour her school uniform was... i'm guessing navy and brown.

LittleEasterLapin · 06/04/2007 20:15

cheers aitch, you've inspired a spin-off thread...

FrannyandZooey · 06/04/2007 21:12

No it was black and white actually Aitch

Erm HC no I do NOT have a squillion lovely scarves

ooh I do have a headache though

OP posts:
harpsichordcarrier · 06/04/2007 21:13

oh poor you

NotQuiteCockney · 06/04/2007 21:26

Ugh, that's no fun. Are you all ready for tomorrow? (We're not, and we have a lot less prep to do. Oh, and DH is convinced it is a pirate party, and was confused when I said it was a drumming party ... I won't even get into DS1's outfit for it ...)

Should I have bought you the boiler suit?

AitchTwoOh · 06/04/2007 21:27

black and white? was it a borstal?

FrannyandZooey · 06/04/2007 22:05

AitchTwoOh · 06/04/2007 22:13

i'm taking that as a yes, you twisted firestarter...

FrannyandZooey · 06/04/2007 22:15

no it was a comprehensive and they allowed the parents to pick the colours of the uniform in the 1960s

so we had black and white

I still wear black all the time but I don't think it has any psychological connection to school

probably
