Does this shampoo exist?

My hair never feels clean and it's driving me crazy.

I dye my hair, so I use ones for coloured hair. I've tried ones without silicon etc but nothing seems to work. The only shampoos that do make it feel clean strip out the colour.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks.

Using shampoos without silicones won't help if you have silicones in other hair products or silicone residue in your hair. You need to get the silicones off the hair (fairy liquid for one wash) and then stop using silicones altogether so you're only using water soluble products

When you say it doesn't feel clean, what do you mean? It must be clean, so are you looking for squeaky hair, it what. Maybe if it is dyed the cuticle is rough so it's not going to squeak? I don't even use shampoo (conditioner only) but my hair is clean.

TuckFrump · 11/09/2017 08:53

It feels greasy again in less than a day. I guess I do like it to feel squeaky clean, but I really just want it to not feel lank and greasy.

I don't use any other hair products apart from shampoo and conditioner, so no other silicone products.

I know it's possible for it to feel clean, because some clarifying shampoos make it feel great. They just strip out the colour.

i know what you mean. As soon as i have washed and dried mine i can put my hands into my hair near the root and there is no lift or chance of my hair blowing around freely.

When i visit the hairdressers however there is so i'm guessing thats my answer. I need the shampoo they use.

fannydaggerz · 11/09/2017 08:57

Have you tried a shampoo soap bar from lush? They really helped me when I found my hair to be greasy after a short time.

Use a little bit of conditioner at the ends and not on the scalp.

gingerbreadmam · 11/09/2017 08:58

i definitely havent so might give it a go. got to be cheaper than the salons. thanks.

Nonotmenori · 11/09/2017 09:01

I'd wash with washing up liquid then with shampoo. You'll be amazed how lovely your hair will be after that

gingerbreadmam · 11/09/2017 09:28

as i have washing up liquid in im going to give that a go in the morning. thanks.

daro · 11/09/2017 09:32

Pureology shampoos are made specifically for coloured hair and have no sulfates (if that bothers you). I recently started using it find it great.

Spam88 · 11/09/2017 09:43

I developed really greasy hair after having my baby, it didn't even feel clean when I was rinsing the shampoo out. Switched to Liz Earle shampoo which sorted it in one wash.

This shampoo and conditioner is lovely, It smells amazing and leaves my long hair feeling fresh and clean.

Also the OGX range I love too.

gingerbreadmam · 11/09/2017 10:36

i use the herbal essences and it's still not doing a great job however if i give it a good wash with fairy that might put it in better stead.

MusicToMyEars800 · 11/09/2017 10:41

I don't use the normal Herbal essences in the coloured bottles, I use the clear ones, They are better than the normal ones.

revelsandrose · 11/09/2017 11:02

Pantene micellar shampoo and conditioner, no silicone, not too harsh but leaves mine feeling decent for at least two days

TuckFrump · 11/09/2017 11:19

Thanks everyone. Some more to try. I have so many part used bottles it's ridiculous!

I shampoo, condition then light shampoo again otherwise my hair would be greasy by the end of the day. I can get a few days out of it now.

Aderyn17 · 11/09/2017 12:02

If I use tea tree shampoo from Holland and Barratt (I think the brand is Avalon) my hair feels squeaky clean. I don't know how it would be on coloured hair in the long term though.

AnarchyKitty · 11/09/2017 12:07

I use Gum shampoo as that's what my hairdresser uses. It's fantastic. I shampoo then condition then shampoo again.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 12:09

Sounds like you need a clarifying shampoo.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/09/2017 12:10

Vosene will do the trick as well washing up liquid as a pp mentioned.

Lemond1fficult · 11/09/2017 12:15

The L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay is very good. It's intended for greasy hair with dry ends. I was having to wash every day, but I find I get at least another day out of my hair now. Also, mega cheap - Superdrug just did an offer and I got both 500ml bottles for £5!

TuckFrump · 11/09/2017 13:10

Thanks again.

The Extraordinary Clay seems to take the colour out, as do clarifying shampoos.

gingerbreadmam · 11/09/2017 15:38

yes its the 0% herbal essence ones i use. better than normal shampoos but still not great. could be because of a build up though.

I had exttaordinary clay and read a thread on here where lots of people were saying it made their hair fall out so binned it.

Could be that if you're getting more days between washes you have more yo shed when you do wash it but it put me right off.

ChesterFuckingDraws · 11/09/2017 15:45

Have you tried reverse washing? So cobdiotiin first then shampoo, it's not something I've done but I have read good things about it,

Do you definitely rinse your hair enough? I found the herbal essence free from range took a lot of rinsing out-but now I love it And it's all I use.
