I just find things shrink/everyone has the same thing but can't help browsing.

Only for dressing gowns. I get stressed out in there, its always rammed full of folk.

NiteFlights · 27/08/2017 16:36

Yes, mainly t-shirts and pyjamas and the odd other things that are cotton. I treat them the same as all my other clothes and don't have a throwaway mentality, but I admit one reason I buy my white t-shirts there is because they don't last me long wherever I get them from, so I feel I may as well chuck out a t-shirt that's cost me £2 after a few wears than get upset over one that cost more.

In my experience their pyjamas are pretty good quality and last years.

Nat123xxx · 27/08/2017 16:37

I bought some shirts a few weeks ago.
Collarless patterned shirts £10 each and they shrunk.
I hand washed one it shrunk ..machine washed the other and still shrunk.
Il probably still shop in again tho.

If you went through my wardrobe, you'd think I only shop in Primark or Asda George! Jeans and work trousers come from Primark, plus canvas shoes for summer; underwear and tops come from George with a few from Primark - mainly the base layer long-sleeve t-shirts as mentioned by others.

I shop at either 8:30am or 10:30am (Sunday) so that I am in and out before the crowds hit. Our 8yo son is dressed almost exclusively from Primark, I don't see the point in paying more for clothes that he outgrows in a season. £1.50 kids t-shirts rock!

userofthiswebsite · 27/08/2017 17:17

Cheap socks, footsies, bed socks, ballet pumps (expensive or cheap mine never last) tights and jim-jams. So things that 'don't matter' basically.
The rest, no.

happyinherts · 27/08/2017 18:24

I bought a bright red swing dress in Primark yesterday - must be the winter range as it was long sleeved. £10. Pleased with it.

ElfrideSwancourt · 27/08/2017 19:48

I buy their Harry Potter stuff especially the pjs and DD1 likes the NASA range but can't remember the last time I bought any outerwear.

unlimiteddilutingjuice · 27/08/2017 19:51

Yes.
I buy my jeans from the mens section (womens jeans are pants as pp have said)
I also buy leggings, stretchy jearsey fabric skirts (always a fiver and wash well), the occassional top and kids clothes.

suckonthatmaureen · 27/08/2017 19:54

They do plain jersey tshirts (long and short sleeved, and Cami vests that seem to wash well, are just the right thickness for layering and come in every colour under the sun.
I get those, and those footsie sock things.
They also do cotton and jersey sundresses which I buy for my 3 year old DD. Not much else tbh.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 27/08/2017 19:58

Yes for sleepwear, kids clothes, hair bobbles and occasionally bedding.

explodingkittens · 27/08/2017 20:15

Tights, vest tops, plain packs of knickers. Actual clothes that I'd ever want anyone to see, nope. Their quality and fabrics are awful. I'd rather spend more and buy less.

BarbaraOcumbungles · 27/08/2017 20:24

Ah yes and tights. Their tights are fantastic.

Judydreamsofhorses · 27/08/2017 20:45

Pyjamas, boxers for DP, and things like face cloths. We also have a set of bedlinen I bought on a whim before we moved into this house, and it has washed and worn just as well as the John Lewis/M&S sets.

nancy75 · 27/08/2017 20:48

Not for clothes but I buy all our towels in there - they wash really well & have lasted longer than towels I bought in Selfridges for about a million times the price!

Mellington · 27/08/2017 20:53

Yes, i find it hard to buy DS (age 2) trousers because he has such narrow hips, thankfully Primark's stinginess over fabric cut works in my favour.

I've also bought stuff to use as maternity wear as it's so cheap. I have a lot of scarves from there but on the whole I prefer to invest in basics that last me a few years as I hate shopping.

glow1984 · 27/08/2017 21:19

My wardrobe is mostly Primark and H&M.

WhatToDoAboutThis2017 · 27/08/2017 21:24

Yes! It's my favourite shop. We don't live near one and only go every couple of months but each time I easily spend £100.

I could spend much more but find I have to limit myself.

I think they're good quality at good prices; their sizes are perfect and they last ages.

belleandsnowwhite · 27/08/2017 21:48

I buy my holiday clothes like shorts and vests as well as pj's and bits for wearing around the house. Spend a lot on my children there especially my teen who like the harry potter, Disney and super hero stuff.

wobblywonderwoman · 27/08/2017 21:54

Sometimes. I hate the queues and find the tops OK but very thin and probably work out more expensive that buying a top from gap on the sale. I love a bargain and find it good for a summer holiday top. Knickers. Footsies. Pearl effect earrings. Some homewares are nice. I bought battery fairy lights with clips that I will put away for Christmas to display cards.

I went this morning and was there a minute before it opened to miss the queue

LancashireTea · 27/08/2017 22:28

For basics it is fantastic. Vests, PJ's, plain stretch tops are all totally worth it. Their perfumes are not bad and their blue tube of mascara is one of the few out there that I'm not allergic to.

Some clothes can be weirdly cut, though. I tend to just get the basics.

Fucky · 27/08/2017 22:30

No way. Rather go without

megletthesecond · 27/08/2017 22:33

Yes. I've got 'house' clothes and pj's that have lasted well over five years. I'm still wearing the checked lumberjack style shirt I bought to bf dd in the winter and she's almost 9.

Mummaofboys · 27/08/2017 22:33

No, buy cheap buy twice.

Comps83 · 27/08/2017 22:36

Not anymore . It's false economy . The stuff doesn't last 5 mins . Apart from their jeans which are pretty good

SylviaPoe · 27/08/2017 22:37

Vests, t-shirts, hoodies, brushed cotton bedding, flannels, beach towels, tooth brushes, coat hangers, skater skirts, makeup brushes, cotton wool pads, mens' underwear, teen nightwear, hair elastics, paper straws, canvas shoes, socks.

I have some clothes from primark that are ten years old.
