Following on from the other thread about crap beauty products, what are your huge wins?

I need enabling inspiration.

I'll start - Waitrose shower gels. Cheap as chips and smell lovely.

Coconut oil as a conditioning treatment for hair. Best thing I've ever used bar none.

JLo Glow perfume. Again cheap and lovely.

Mac Velvet Teddy lipstick. A nice nude that doesn't turn terracotta.

Clinique Quickliner Intense eyeliner. I buy two at a time in case I run out.

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum concealer. Knocks Touché Eclat into a cocked hat.

What are your wins?

Una Brennan vitamin C serum - just gorgeous. Smells divine and leaves my face looking all glowy. In fact I've not met an Una Brennan product I didn't like yet, but the serum is a proper cracker.

Waitrose Pure skincare range - again, everything I've tried from the range has worked a treat, and it's cheap!

YSL lip stains, lovely colours which stay on but don't go all dry and cracky.

Benefit Dandelion and Boing concealer, my two consistent re-purchases from Benefit

Nars Orgasm, I love it

Have yet to find a single foundation or powder that I love. Very tempted by the Ambient Hourglass powders but am afraid of making another costly makeup mistake!

MumBod · 27/08/2017 18:37

I love No 7 Stay Perfect foundation in Cool Vanilla. I went one shade lighter than my colour match said, and it's perfect.

Mac Warm Soul blusher. If you're not overly fond of pinky blushers or if they look dolly on you, check it out. It's more neutral and just warms you up a bit.

Redken Anti Snap if you have candyfloss hair.

BeeFarseer · 27/08/2017 18:45

Dove DermaSpa hand cream. I got it in a set last Christmas and thought it'd be rubbish. I prefer it to L'Occitane!

Lily Lolo mineral foundation. I have acne prone skin and it gives me coverage without making my skin sore. I've been using it for years, I love it.

Another vote for MaxFactor Masterpiece Max mascara.

Swimminguphill · 27/08/2017 18:45

Oskia gel cleanser - ££ but I just love it. Can't wait for evening to use it everyday. More of a skin conditioner than a make up remover (I use a cheaper one e.g. Body shop camomile for that) makes my skin feel like a baby's bottom.

Body shop camomile cleansing butter.

Marks and spencer marine active serum & moisturiser

Superdrug serum for dry skin - £3 and brilliant.

I have dry, sensitive skin and all the above are 👌

BeeFarseer · 27/08/2017 18:46

Yes to Redken Anti Snap. I recently discovered an old bottle of it and have been using it again. My hair is definitely more resilient.

ElspethFlashman · 27/08/2017 18:54

Alpha H Liquid Gold. It's a Glycolic exfoliator. It doesn't work for everyone but it definitely does for me. I only use it once a week and it's enough. You can get it online at M&S of all places, I got a fab deal on a 3 pack but I dunno if they still do it.

Oh and if anyone is into cleansing oils, Mac Cleanse Off is the best in the world and I've tried pretty much all of them. It would cut through tar. There's a regular version and Tranquil, which is for dry skin.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 27/08/2017 19:05

Body Shop Chamomile Butter here too, but I still like C&P. The Super drug vit E one is lovely but the radiant range (C&P dupe was horrid on my skin, really dried it out)
Diorshow pump and volume mascara. The ONLY one to actually give me eyelashes. It's amazing.

L'Occitane Divine range. Worth every £££ IMO.

Drumroll though goes to a new serum I've found (and I have virtually every Ordinary serum, Super drug, Boots, YSL, the lot.) A colleague from Bulgaria stunned us all by telling us her age - we all had her at 15 yes younger...I jokingly asked if there was a magic cream and she said "of course" It's cheap as chips and in just 2 weeks I've noticed a glow I didn't have before. It's called Rooibos Star anti wrinkle serum by Bodi beauty. Going to try the moisturiser next.

Knope2020 · 27/08/2017 19:10

Aveeno
Lush shower gels...esp twilight and olive branch
Lush shampoos...i use daddy-o
Next perfumes...cheap as chips and very good dupes...£8 for small bottle!
Neutrogena spf
Nivea moisturiser...the blue one
Lush Ultrabland cleanser
Estee lauder advanced night repair
Lush jelly face masks

Knope2020 · 27/08/2017 19:10

Oh and body shop.hemp handcdeam

BradleyPooper · 27/08/2017 19:19

Peter Thomas Roth pumpkin enzyme skin exfoliator is fabulous, his cc cream is also brilliant.
Saranghae skin system is excellent but the moisturizer is one of the best I've ever come across.
Charlotte Tilbury matte lipstick in pillow talk is gorgeous
Marc jacobs velvet noir major volume mascara is my favorite mascara ever.
Recently bought Laura Geller iconic new York uptown chic eyeshadow palette, buttery texture, blends like a dream.

absolutelynoway · 27/08/2017 19:35

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser

L'Oréal Serie Expert silver shampoo

Lancôme Hypnose Drama mascara

Real Techniques beauty blender

flippinada · 27/08/2017 19:42

L'Occitane Shea Butter soap (my favourite is verbena). Expensive for soap - although still under a tenner - but lasts for ages and leaves your hands lovely and soft.

tangledup123 · 27/08/2017 19:45

Superdrug Simply Pure Hydrating Serum. It calms my sensitive acne-prone skin down and makes it feel soft and smooth. And it's only £2.99.

Laiste · 27/08/2017 19:49

Jplex hair maintainer. Bloody amazing!

Kion · 27/08/2017 19:49

Johnsons baby lotion as a facial moisturiser - I've spent a small fortune over the years experimenting with face creams ranging from a few pounds each to around fifty pounds each and this is suiting my skin perfectly (sensitive and prone to breakouts).

Aussie shampoo and conditioner, or the Aldi equivalent is great too.

Earth friendly baby products - for my dd but lovely stuff 😊.

Estée Lauder double wear foundation - quite a new addition for me but loving it so far.

Pomade divine - use this balm for everything - bumps, scrapes, burns, acne and it also helps my 7 month old dd's eczema. Is great stuff.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 27/08/2017 19:53

Biore aqua riche spf 50 sunblock, in the turquoise tube. I wear as a moisturiser, slightly powdery feel. Ive worn it in Egypt, Spain and sports day, my fair skin doesn't budge.
Bodyshop absinthe hand cream. Light, smells lovely and works.
Just discovered Avon 5in1 nail treatment. Usually every nail polish, base and hardener just peel off. This doesn't.

user1495997773 · 27/08/2017 20:07

OOOh Mumbod, I've loved JLo's Glow for years too, it smells amazing!

Skinfulnappies46 · 27/08/2017 20:13

The Body Shop chamomile cleansing Balm... brilliant. Melts even benefit mascara effortlessly.

Rimmel Stay Matte powder.

MountainDweller · 27/08/2017 20:31

Swiminguphill I came on to recommend the Oskia gel cleanser too! I absolutely love it!

My other favourite skincare item at the moment is Skin & Tonic Brit beauty oil. Smells divine and 3 drops at night before moisturiser has sorted out my dry flaky patches.

MountainDweller · 27/08/2017 20:32

Sorry Swimminguphill it appears I cannot spell tonight Blush

KatharinaRosalie · 27/08/2017 20:40

Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream. This is one product I cannot live without - I used to have moderately crap skin with redness, uneven skintone, oiliness, random spots here and there. Now I get compliments. If I haven't been using it and feel there might be some spots brewing, it sorts them out right away. And does not strip or irritate skin.

Serenrose · 27/08/2017 20:41

Soap and Glory "love at first blush" blusher. It's amazing. I could evangelise about it all day Grin

BestIsWest · 27/08/2017 20:42

Yes! The Elf brow kit. I had one and it was dirt cheap and brilliant. Never found another as good.

Neal's Yard Frankincense Nourishing cream. It's the only thing that gets rid on my eczema between my eyebrows. I can feel my skin saying thanks.

hollyisalovelyname · 27/08/2017 20:45

MumBod
Is the coconut oil easy to rinse out of your hair ?
