What jewellery are you wearing at the moment?

I'm not wearing any apart from occasionally earrings on a night out as I have no idea what is in. I find jewellery dates very quickly so don't usually spend a lot. What should I get/what do you wear? Nothing too fashionable eg chokers as I would look daft (wrong side of 50) but something up to date.

I'm in my 50s. I wear my wedding ring and a plain, classic watch every day.

I rarely wear necklaces, but those I have are simple and classic. I never wear bracelets, I can't bear the jangling. I don't like branded jewellery, large pieces or anything gaudy.

I'm mad about earrings. I have two lobe piercings in each ear and a rook piercing. I always wear tiny diamond studs in the top lobe piercing and either a bigger stud or dangly earrings in the lower one. I love handmade, quirky silver earrings so often buy them from craft fairs or on Etsy.

KeiraH · 24/08/2017 12:32

I wear my wedding, engagement and an eternity ring and this hamsa hand and an eye charm necklace from Thomas Sabo. Had since 2012 and haven't taken it off since. I don't really wear any other jewellery day to day.

What jewellery are you wearing at the moment?
LetLoveWin · 24/08/2017 13:19

I wear 3 mismatched studs in each ear, subtly subversive ;) Then I have a beloved silver russian wedding ring necklace with the names of my children and DP (one name on each ring). Everyone asks who bought it for me and the answer is me :)

CoolCarrie · 24/08/2017 13:21

Wedding ring, engagement ring and a handmade gold ring with tiny cat playing with a ball in relief around it, from Etsy, and a necklace with two eye shaped, hand painted, silver framed paintings of David Bowie's eyes, connected by silver chains, with a moon stone in between. It is stunning and a gift from DS for Christmas last year. I love unusual jewellery.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 24/08/2017 13:31

Engagement ring (large diamond solitaire)
Wedding ring (diamond band)
Art Deco diamond bracelet
Diamond stud earrings

All in platinum. Every single day. I might wear coloured stone ring/necklace if going to a formal event but I barely ever change my daily jewellery, I even shower in it Blush

OCSockOrphanage · 24/08/2017 16:46

Stud earrings, sapphires not diamonds, but white.
Russian wedding ring on left hand plus eternity and original wedding band in cooler weather, and a pinkie ring on right hand.
Watch.

achangeisgonnacome · 24/08/2017 18:58

My every day jewellery is my 20'year old 'engagement' ring , a pair of silver drop earrings and a plain silver bangle on my right wrist. I have a selection of the earrings and bangles. They are all quite plain and only two bangles are branded -Tiffany and a Pandora one - no charms.

I longer wear a watch as have my fitbit instead.

Next Friday though I'm getting married, so will have a wedding ring to add to the above.

A1Sharon · 24/08/2017 19:06

Wedding/engagement rings always.
Usually wear David Yurman bracelet and stud earings. He is actually the only other jewellery I like, I am getting quite a collection! Just so,so wearable.

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/08/2017 19:12

I change my jewellery every day. I go through phases of wearing mainly rings, mainly necklaces etc. At the moment I'm in a "just wear one price" phase (usually either earrings or a necklace) but most of my jewellery is quite bold/distinctive so multiple pieces at once can look too much.

I tend to only buy jewellery that is handmade by the designers themselves, often British based designers. I like supporting small businesses and I also think the quality is much better.

Today I just wore this necklace (plus my watch):
www.nizahuang.com/necklace/petroleum-big-pendant-gold

I have some friends who are bespoke jewellers and run a business in Hatton Garden (all handmade pieces) so I've learnt a lot about good quality jewellery from them and met a lot of young designers who are just starting out (so I have quite a lot of interesting and unique pieces). I've also commissioned some jewellery just for me. It's nice to have a bespoke one-off piece. I also love antique Chinese jewellery (I lived in China for a few years) and have some very unusual Chinese pieces (earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings) that always gets lots of positive comments when I wear them.

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/08/2017 19:13

Terrible typing from me - should be "just one piece". No idea where "price" came from!

NomDePlumeReloaded · 24/08/2017 19:15

Now?

Wedding band (yellow gold)
Pearl stud earrings (yellow gold 'stems')

I always wear both of these things. I sometimes add my engagement ring and various other bits but I prefer a more low key look and my job means I can only wear minimal jewellery, nothing dangly, that might injure or is hard to clean (stones rings for e.g.). My engagement ring is quite prominent and gets caught on things, so I tend to only wear it for special occasions.

KeiraH · 24/08/2017 21:19

@HundredMilesAnHour LOVE that necklace and pretty much everything else by her! Thanks for the link. I am sending it to my husband 😄

Judydreamsofhorses · 24/08/2017 21:25

I have a lot of acrylic Tatty Devine jewellery, then otherwise mainly silver. As standard I wear every day: gold and silver Alex Monroe ring, silver and turquoise thumb ring, big silver knot ring, and a man's Calvin Klein watch which is a kind of pewter colour.

Today along with that I wore silver studs which are lightening bolts, via Etsy, and a silver ampersand necklace by Rachel Jackson.

HundredMilesAnHour · 24/08/2017 21:34

@KeiraH Glad I could help Grin

These are a few of my other favourite designers (in case your husband is in a VERY generous mood!)

www.caratonkin.com/
www.carinadejager.com/
www.jeannemarell.com/

And my all time favourite (who is currently making me two pairs of bespoke earrings). He is very talented and a real craftsman:

And his Hatton Garden shop:

QueenofLouisiana · 24/08/2017 22:14

Engagement/ wedding/ eternity rings- gold and diamond set. On my right hand I have a square green amethyst ring.
Earrings- opal set captive bead ring in my daith, crystal stud in my helix, simple stud in my lobe. Other ear- lobe is the same, silver captive bead ring in upper lobe.
I don't wear necklaces or bracelets day to day.

Berrybakecake1 · 24/08/2017 22:24

There is a beaverbrooks advert at the top of my page while looking at this thread. (Brought a smile to my face)
I'm in my 30's and love jewellery but can't stand to wear it if I'm honest.
I love my dangly earrings but I'm fed up with them. If I ever wear bracelets and necklaces I tend to take them within a few hours and I don't have any rings to wear. (Been engaged 13years still haven't licked a ring). SO at the moment I'm wearing very small 9ct gold Creole earrings my brother bought me on my 25th birthday.
I like classic pieces or hippy/natural things. Prefer silver to gold.

TheEmmaDilemma · 24/08/2017 23:44

I sometimes wear dress pieces.

Apart from that I wear one ring, the Mam and Nan ring which was a 40th present designed by my Mam and me from several pieces I inherited made into something I could wear and love daily.

SadieContrary · 25/08/2017 00:49

I wear the same jewellery every day regardless of social occasion or work
Wedding band/ engagement (solitaire) & eternity ring - all platinum.
Diamond/Mother of Pearl faced Tag Heuer watch.
Diamond/ platinum tennis bracelet on the other side.
Diamond/platinum solitaire stud earrings.
I rarely take mine off and like a previous poster, I also shower/sleep in mine.
Aside from jewellery that I inherited and some Swarovski bits that I've been gifted, it's all I own really. I'm a kindofa get once, look after and treasure forever kindofa gal.

KeiraH · 25/08/2017 07:14

@HundredMilesAnHour we have very similar taste in jewellery! I have Tessa's pigeon claw ring 😊 I ll check the other links out. I love pieces that are different. My engagement ring was from

varianceobjects.com

Helloyouitsme · 25/08/2017 08:43

Posters don't seem to be wearing fashion jewellery. Who buys the jewellery on the stands in next and m&s?!

NomDePlumeReloaded · 25/08/2017 09:53

Berry Grin .@ engaged 13 years and still haven't licked a ring Shock

Tralalalalz · 25/08/2017 10:56

Wedding ring and engagement ring, 2 silver bangles, my Rolex watch and a pair of diamond studs. Every day, never change them but don't sleep in any jewellery at all apart from the earrings

HundredMilesAnHour · 25/08/2017 11:47

@KeiraH yes I think we have similar taste! Excellent taste in fact Grin

Tessa used to be based out of my friend Karl Karter's workshop so I have quite a few of her pieces and always get lots of positive comments from people on them. I don't know where you're based but she has her own (pink!) studio now at the top end of Hatton Garden. She made me a lovely custom double pigeon claw necklace with a huge gemstone that I'd bought elsewhere (it was from a necklace but the setting was really dull so I got Tessa to reset in one of her necklaces instead).

Ah jewellery!!! Love it so much. Think I must have been a magpie in a previous life. Wink

Elledorado · 25/08/2017 11:52

Star shape white gold diamond pendant and studs.

DeltaG · 25/08/2017 12:41

Well, I never leave the house without my Patek Philippe twenty-4 wristwatch!

.....only kidding; I normally wear an ever-changing combination of fine and costume jewellery, but have somewhat of a penchant for coloured gemstone rings. If I'm in a can't be arsed mood, I'll just wear diamond stud earrings, but otherwise I like more statement pieces.

I take it all off to sleep and shower, even my wedding and engagement rings.
