I'd love recommendations for a non streaky, non orange, non biscuity gradual tanner please. Smile I'm hopeless at putting on fake tan and I'm not keen on the smell but my legs are so very white! Looking forward to mumsnetters wisdom. SmileFlowers

I am like Casper. I have finally found a couple of things that I think look okay and not too orange. I use St Tropez Gradual Tan Tinted Body Lotion - it has a slight tint so you can see it going on. If I need to top this up I use Viva Liberata Body Blur in latte. This gives a slight sheen to my legs.

I really like the Clarins radiance plus golden glow booster
You can get it for face and body

Pop a few drops in your normal moisturiser and it gradually builds a lovely glow with none of the annoyances of fake tan

Hi, I recently tried one because of a blogger recommendation and I love it. It's the St Moriz Instant Tan mousse. It's a subtle tan, I would recommend the medium colour unless you are absolutely pale. It's really easy to apply because it gives you an instant color which can be used as a guide so you can avoid those annoying streaks. And the tan is really beautiful, kind of golden subtle tan just perfect to start wearing skirts and shorts. The best part is that it costs £3-4 so it's at least worth the try. I leave you the link for Amazon but I saw it on Wilko and I think also in Superdrug, just make sure is the one that has a color guide.

You are all wonderful, I'll do some research tonight and decide which one to get. Thank you lovely mumsnetters! Smile

I embrace the neon. I think blindingly pale legs can look just as nice as naturally tanned ones, and far nicer than fake tanned ones.

Sally Hansen Airbrush legs in Light Glow takes the edge of the whiteness. Not a gradual tan, a wash off make up. (Apply lightly otherwise legs can look mannequin like. And don't be tempted by anything other than the light version.)

laramara · 18/07/2017 15:08

I've been using the Vita Liberata body blur in light and really rate it, it's not a self tanner, you just apply it when you need to, it's extremely straightforward to apply as you can see exactly what you're doing with none of the risk factor that you have with a self tanner plus no yucky smell!

AllT0rque · 18/07/2017 15:15

Try using a mitt. I was useless at applying fake tan until I tried one. It was a revelation! At Moriz is good too. Not too spendy but good results.

AllT0rque · 18/07/2017 15:16

*St Moriz

Puffpaw · 18/07/2017 20:56

Ok I am going to go for Clarins radiance plus golden glow booster and start with that. I may also try the vita liberata body blur too. My worry with wash off tan is it rubbing off if you get hot or sweaty?

Have taken on board the comment about the mitt if I go down the proper fake tan route. The st Moritz has great reviews!

Thank you once again Flowers

The wash-off tans are pretty good. They go on wet (obvs) but then "set", and generally only come off with soap and water.

flapflops · 19/07/2017 07:04

Sally Hanson is the best thing ever. It's not a gradual, it's instant but it's brilliant. I have a horrible pasty white legs and this Summer have been able to get my legs out on show thanks to this amazing stuff. Highly recommended!!!

BarchesterFlowers · 19/07/2017 07:07

I have been using Sally Hansen this year for the first time. It doesn't come off apart from in the shower.

I use a minuscule amount on moisturised legs just to take the blue tinge off.

Holidayhooray · 19/07/2017 07:12

Skinny tan. It's amazing and I've tried them all.
St T a close second.

Use your mitt when putting on gradual tanner!!!

OldJoseph · 19/07/2017 08:16

I've been using Boots bb cream (for face) but on my legs and arms. It has an SPF of 50 but just takes the whiteness off. I think Ultrasun does something similar.

If you use gradual tanner / fake tan do you not use suncream? If you do use suncream when do you out it on?

taybert · 19/07/2017 08:38

Another vote for the wash off ones- BodyShop do a good one too. I apply my factor 50 and let it soak in then whiz a mitt with instant tanner over to take the blue off my legs (and arms and face!). It doesn't settle in to pores, smell, streak or go patchy and the colour is more natural than fake tan. You can reapply sunscreen over the top (especially the light mist type ones) but I don't tend to be showing lots of skin on the beach anyway- too much hassle trying not to burn!

reuset · 19/07/2017 08:50

I'm with Scrum and would embrace the pale legs.

missmove38 · 19/07/2017 08:58

St moritz or bondi sands are v good

36plusandtrying · 19/07/2017 09:02

Bondi sands light is fab ! Clarins used to be my go to til I found it ! Much better, use a mitt. Dry exfoliate first and the fact it's coloured will help with application - good luck !

MuchasSmoochas · 19/07/2017 09:09

Believe me when I say Bondi Sands Gradual, and I have tried them all!!

Puffpaw · 19/07/2017 11:33

Ooooh more products to look at! I'm going to end up with a fake tan haul! Is bondi sands biscuity in smell?

MrsPear · 19/07/2017 12:44

I use Gariner summer body lotion LIGHT sun kissed - they do two shades and the dark one is too dark. I shower daily, rub in, brush teeth then dress - clothes are fine that way.

missmove38 · 19/07/2017 14:51

Bondi maybe a tiny bit but in a nice way..you also can't smell a thing once washed off!
