Birthday present - cleansers etc for dd (22)

My dd has asked for some nice face products for her birthday. She's been using boots own or body shop stuff. But was wondering about something a bit more special. I use a cleanser, toner, moisturiser and eye make up remover with occasional use of micellar water and exfoliant myself. Firstly, would these be the right products to get? What brand would you recommend? It feels like it would be nice to get a group from one brand but is that silly?

Hopeful bump! ( as they say)

At a similar age I liked soap and glory face products but not sure if they would be special enough? The peaches and clean cleanser and the make up wipes are really good

OP, I have introduced several friends/relatives of a similar age and older to Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, and they all continue to buy for themselves.
Have a look at the Liz Earle website: you could buy skin tonic and a moisturiser too.

mintbiscuit · 22/06/2017 20:27

What's her skin type? You could look for inspiration on Cult Beauty (although some of it can be sourced cheaper elsewhere).

Sparkletastic · 22/06/2017 20:32

Can't go wrong with Clarins. Great range with options for younger skin - highly recommend Daily Energizer Cream.

tobee · 22/06/2017 21:31

I'm not sure of her skin type. I think I'll take her with me to get advice. I think she would prefer that.

Temple spa starter kit, good for all ages

I've recently started using 'The Ordinary' as I was seeing it being mentioned by many MUA YouTubers.
They do all sorts of different products for all different types of skin. They really are fantastic products and best of all is that none of it is expensive either, so if she likes the stuff then she will be able to afford to keep buying it for herself.
I've just got my sister into their products too and she's loving it, she's 21.

Vichy, every time. You can buy it in Boots or in some chemists or online.

SomeOtherFuckers · 22/06/2017 22:18

I use Lush 9-5 cleanser daily and their Angels on Bare Skin cleanser twice weekly , I also use their Rose Water toner - though the tea tree one is great if she gets spots.
I'm 22 and have dry sensitive skin and it makes me GLOW!

SomeOtherFuckers · 22/06/2017 22:18

Oh I also use miscellany water for when I'm being lazy x

Cakescakescakes · 22/06/2017 22:23

If you look on the Liz Earle website they always have a deal each month where you get a whole set of cleanser, toner and moisturiser and always a free gift too eg a serum or hair products. Is good value and the products are lovely.

Clarins gift sets? Depending on her skin type

www.escentual.com/clarins/clarins-gift-sets/cleansingtrousse001/

or this

www.escentual.com/clarins/clarins-gift-sets/cleansingtrousse002/

and pick a moisturiser based on her skin type?

FoodGloriousFud · 22/06/2017 22:38

I really love Lancôme. I use their Bi-facil to remove my make up and tone with their Tonique Douceur. The have hydra Zen moisturisers are lovely too.

Oh wow! Loads of suggestions, thank you.

Benefit do a nice gentle range with funky packaging.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/06/2017 20:07

My dd (22) likes the Clarins Gentle Foaming cleanser, with cottonseed.

Housewife2010 · 24/06/2017 06:48

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel is fantastic. It is a gorgeous treat and lasts for ages.

VintagePerfumista · 24/06/2017 07:01

My Mum always used to buy me lovely posh skincare giftsets, fab idea.

I'd go for something like one of the Liz Earle or Clarins sets for something a bit more special. Both are lovely. Prob the Liz Earle, though, I have bought people giftsets from them before and they are beautifully packaged and very reasonably priced. You can get them on Special from QVC as well.

masterblaster2000 · 24/06/2017 07:10

Liz earl hot cloth cleanser. They have an offer this month for 150ml of grapefruit and patchouli cleanser and 2 clothes for £22! I know as I've just bought 2 as gifts!!!

SpeckledyHen · 24/06/2017 07:30

Clarins would be my suggestion . Not Liz Earle as imo it smells awful . Reminds me of rugby players body rub .

Cakescakescakes · 24/06/2017 07:45

All a matter of taste though - I hate the smell of Clarins products!

VintagePerfumista · 24/06/2017 08:25

The original Liz Earle does have a hint of menthol- it's the rosemary oil. They now do a wonderful lavender and rose (iirc) scented range and I think another one as well.
