So last Friday I had microblading done at a popular, experienced and high end beauticians . It looked wonderful and the aftercare was clearly explained and paperwork duly read.
However today, day 8 after my treatment, I've had my first shower (as in face immersed not first shower in 8 days), patted my face dry, and literally every trace of the microblading has disappeared. I'm not entirely sure what to do now, it's not like I've exfoliated them off or even dried my face vigorously. Ugh! I've got an appointment first thing Monday to get my beauticians opinion but wanted to ask on here what you think. Will appointment two go ahead still and just hope that it takes quicker or I leave them longer next time? £380 has literally just gone down the sink

I think they look great if done well but I'm too much of a fuss pot to let anyone shape my eyebrows except me!

Does it hurt and how long does it last?

HeyRoly · 11/06/2017 09:58

Sharpie my arse. If you don't have anything nice to say... Hmm

The photos in that blog are quite disturbing though. The degree of scabbing is really, really extreme. I don't think that's normal.

Girlywurly · 11/06/2017 11:45

Vile behaviour, CherylVole. And about 1000 times uglier than the worst sharpie-brow.

I think they look really great. I have thick natural brows, but they thin out towards the tail, so I might get them infilled there.

Dontsayyouloveme · 11/06/2017 11:58

Here are my sharpies Wink eight weeks after final session !

Do these eventually totally fade away? I just can't but help think you are all going to massively regret this in 10yrs time if they are permanent.

Dontsayyouloveme · 11/06/2017 12:36

It's semi permanent! So yeah they will. Smile

isupposeitsverynice · 11/06/2017 12:45

Lasts about six months to a year from what I've read. Would anyone mind telling me roughly what they've paid for microblading? I've been looking at local services and they range from a couple of hundred quid to over a grand! It makes me very nervous about using a cheap one but at the same time I really cannot justify spunking a thousand pounds on having my eyebrows coloured in.

Dailystuck71 · 11/06/2017 13:15

I've paid £200 and I expect mine to last 18-24 months per research I did beforehand.

HeyRoly · 11/06/2017 13:43

I paid £400. And I have completely bald brows and have done for years. Not having to hurriedly (and badly) draw my eyebrows on has already made a massive difference to my life and my confidence.

papersmile · 11/06/2017 13:57

Can I ask a genuine question? Do you have this done because of over-plucking eyebrows, or is it the look itself of microblading that you're after - they do look a bit different to a 'natural/hairy eyebrows?

I feel really old as I think this is for a younger demographic. I haven't come across microblading before.

Onthehighseas · 11/06/2017 14:01

I was wondering what paper is asking too. Is it done to improve over plucked brows, or is this a specific look that people want?

HeyRoly · 11/06/2017 14:43

I've seen it done for all sorts of reasons. Bald brows like mine, to correct the appearance of overplucked skinny eyebrows, to balance out uneven/asymmetrical eyebrows, and to fill gaps in patchy eyebrows.

isupposeitsverynice · 11/06/2017 15:30

Personally I'm thinking about it because at the grand old age of 31 great chunks of my eyebrows are going pure white and it's making them look dreadfully patchy.

Pippin8 · 11/06/2017 15:39

I've had mine done & after I'd washed them they looked milky for a few weeks. They looked fab about 4 weeks after.
I'm 2 weeks post my final touch up & am a bit milky again.

I was told not to get them wet for 2 weeks though.

ShinyGirl · 11/06/2017 16:10

Holy fuck, the ones in the blog look shockingly bad.

bobkate · 11/06/2017 16:19

So I found my before and straight after picture....don't think any of the ones shown, including mine, look at all sharpie like. Mine don't look as pale in the photo as they did in real life...they were barely there, and as someone up the thread said, the pain of always drawing/pomading/filling them in just became a real drag and after much time researching I decided to give it a go.
Apart from having a slight wobble last night, I'm thrilled Smile

Girlywurly · 11/06/2017 16:20

They look lovely and not at all sharpie like.

bobkate · 11/06/2017 16:21

Oh, and mine was £225 including the follow up appointment. I was told that if I look after them, sun cream, etc, they should last 12-24 months. I think a lot is dependant on your skin type.

bobkate · 11/06/2017 16:21

Thank you girly

Ohyesiam · 11/06/2017 17:26

Wowbobkate they look like individual hairs, natural, but really well groomed. I was just about to ask of they could do natural looking ones ( I'm too old to do the strong brows you young ladies can rock, I'd look like a drag queen....), but this has got me interested. Despite being hairy else where, my brows are a bit pathetic.
Is the healing really noticeable? Would my work colleagues know I'd had it done in the weeks after?

KatharinaRosalie · 11/06/2017 17:43

bobkate yours look amazing! How did it heal? I'm really tempted as said, but I really can't afford to take weeks off work..

bobkate · 11/06/2017 17:57

Blush thanks - I did a lot of research and chose this girl because of how natural her photos look. They don't look like that at the moment though!!! Firstly, apologies chicinwellies - I appear to have hijacked your thread somewhat... sorry!
The photo at day 4 above had me really worried.. they had really darkened and merged into one bigger blob of colour( which, to be fair, the beautician had told me about and I had read all about this happening - I still couldn't help have a wobble though! ).
Today, they have gone much patchier, but I think only noticeable to others if they were to really study them. My husband hadn't even noticed I'd had anything done until I pointed it out. He said he just thought my eyebrows looked a bit sweaty Confused...think it's due to the vaseline type cream I have to put on.
So I'll be on day 7 tomorrow. I'll come and put a day 14 photo on if anyone is interested and if chicin doesn't mind.
A lot of my colleagues did ask and notice, but only to say how great they looked. I didn't feel they were totally 'out there' and I've not felt the need to skulk whilst they heal if that helps ohyes and I would say I'm quite a self conscious person. Katharina I didn't take any time off....and I don't think you would need to.

Dailystuck71 · 11/06/2017 18:00

Photo of me on stage 3 day 8. You can see some of the scabbing but it's not too bad.

bobkate · 16/06/2017 09:52

Thought I'd come back and show you this photo. This is day 11, all the ( very minor as it turns out ) scabbing has gone and I have to say I'm really pleased with the result. I'm now really looking forward to the top up appointment as I think the finished result will be great.
It's already made my mornings ten times easier, no phaff of worrying about filling in my brows....so happy days.
If anyone is considering it, I'd definitely recommend the process. All I would say is spend a long time researching the technician, looking at their photos. Mine had put up a lot of photos of the different stages, which I found helped. Check they are insured/qualified/etc and if there's any doubt on those or the photos, look for someone else.

On a slight side note - does that look like roseacea on my nose? Not sure what to do about that. That's my next mission!!
