I have had 'chicken' arms for as long as I can remember and now it's that time of the year to consider getting them out with sleeveless tops I'd really like to tackle them once and for all - anyone got any suggestions please?

They look like freckles to me? If there are bumps as well it's probably keratosis pilaris- you can reduce it by using high-urea-percentage foot cream.

AppleMagic · 03/06/2017 19:38

Body lotion containing Urea. I have a multitude of skin problems (eczema, rosacea etc) and that's the only one I've ever been able to completely fix.

Gileswithachainsaw · 03/06/2017 19:38

Do you suffer from spotty legs too?

What happens if you take an anti histamine does it reduce it at all?

Wondering if you are allergic to the fabric or detergents

WaxyBean · 03/06/2017 19:40

Ameliorate body lotion - amazing stuff used consistently.

slimceagirl · 03/06/2017 19:42

There is freckles in there too and no spotty legs thankfully. Some of the red spots are raised.

It looks like keratosis pilaris

Moisturisers containing urea are supposed to help reduce the spottiness. My upper legs are like it too Sad A tan also helps disguise - I use a self-tanning moisturiser during the summer to take some of the glare off my pasty legs as I keep put of the sun as I burn.

slimceagirl · 03/06/2017 19:43

Just googled keratosis pilaris and yes that's exactly what it looks like!!!

Gingernaut · 03/06/2017 19:43

This is me all over.

Back, front, arms and legs.

Keratosis pilaris and eczema.

Moisturize. Moisturize. Exfoliate. Moisturize.

Roughly in that order.

Mame - yes I'll put tan on if I going out somewhere special as you right it does make it look better.

I just used the cheap eucerin stuff and it cleared up my keratosis pilarus really quickly. It came back once a few months later and so I used it again and it's been gone since then (a few years ago) I don't need to use it all the time, it's actually got rid of them.

peanutbutter2409 · 03/06/2017 19:49

AppleMagic which eucerin product did you use?

NassauBeach · 03/06/2017 19:49

I have this - what moisturiser has urea?

slimceagirl · 03/06/2017 19:50

Wow Apple yes which one did you use - id love to try something that might improve it or remove it completely!

Try Palmers anti-ageing body lotion (contains alpha beta hydroxy). I get this too and it puts me off wearing short sleeves. Also reducing gluten - I find avoiding bread and pasta reduces it loads.

KitNCaboodle · 03/06/2017 19:53

I would be interested too, Apple

AppleMagic · 03/06/2017 20:01

It was this one.

AppleMagic · 03/06/2017 20:05

I think it must have been on offer though because I didn't pay that much for it. I expect the foot version would probably work as well and is a bit cheaper.

slimceagirl · 03/06/2017 20:08

Thanks Apple, if it worked I'd gladly pay that!

I like flexitol moisturising foot cream, it is also 10% urea.

happy2bhomely · 03/06/2017 20:10

I used Nip and Fab Glycolic body cream and it was gone within 5 days. I now use it once a week and it's not returned.

I also use the glycolic face wash as a shower gel on a puff. Brilliant stuff.

HelsinkiLights · 03/06/2017 20:11

I had this and what got rid of it was using a scrubby puff in the shower & no body lotion for a few weeks. Even now I use body lotion sparingly & my skin isn't dry.

Rainbowglow · 03/06/2017 21:00

Ameliorate is fabulous - Both their scrub and the body lotion. And dry body brushing every day.

Supermagicsmile · 04/06/2017 04:19

I am going to try some of these too! I've had it for 25 years!

squoosh · 04/06/2017 04:29

I too recommend Ameliorate

Yellowaardvark · 04/06/2017 05:03

I have this too! Here's hoping the creams work!
