Can I do anything about my red face

I have a very red complexion which gets even redder as soon as I get a bit tired, a bit hot or have a drink.
In group photos my face always stands out as being so much redder than anyone else even with make up on.

Is there anything I can do to reduce the redness? I also have very sensitive skin, anything I put on it makes it more red and stingy except for a little bit of E45 cream used occasionally.

As Barbie said - not enough on its own but in combo with bare minerals powder on top I get really good coverage. After trying loads of heavy duty concealers and having trouble with that looking flaky and dry after a few hours, I was really pleased to find something that worked for me! I always feel conscious without cover now (that people are thinking I look like an alcoholic with a bright red nose!).

I use Pai their Calming Range cleanser, tonic and moisturiser (only at night the moisturiser) and cleanse and spritz again with the tonic in the morning and then apply Kalme Chameleon Concealer (this is quite hydrating so I don't need moisturiser in the day time as well)

Use products for sensitive skin only. I rate La Roche Posay.
Wear high SPF every day.
Avoid spicy food and alcohol.
I wonder have you some Demodex folliculitis? Demodex is a small mite (yeah I know, sounds disgusting) that colonizes some skins, especially as we age, and can cause facial redness, and maybe maybe acne rosacea. If your GP has an interest in skin they may be able to diagnose it. If not, a dermatologist. There are topical treatments that can help.
And a course IPL can be very effective.

I wholeheartedly agree with Barbie, dehydrated skin is problem skin. And E45 is awful stuff imo!

I have Rosacea and find no alcohol, no sugar, no nightshades, dairy and gluten are a no no, but one thing can make you react more than others. Best see your doc and get some cream for rosacea, takes the redness away. Hope this helps Smile

I have recently developed a similar problem OP. I have used lancome products for years. In desperation I have switched to Avene products (not aveeno) available from boots, they do a good cleanser for skin prone to redness, I am using their moisturiser 'extremely compensating cream' and have noticed a big improvement.
