Does anyone else not do brown?

I keep rifling through my wardrobe and anything brown I come across is taken to the charity shop.

With me muttering under my breath, what on earth was I thinking.

I feel it's just dingy, drab, musty, makes me feel old- er
I'm getting rid of beige carpets as well.
Is it just me or is brown just not a fashion colour.

Brown used to be in fashion a few years ago, I had loads of stuff in brown and I quite suit it. It's been out of fashion for awhile so you don't see it much anymore in the shops. I agree it looks dull now and I recently got rid of some brown clothes too.

I don't do beige (am always reminded of Billy Connolly sketches about beige) but I do wear chocolate brown . I have Brown eyes and hair so it really suits me.

I own a pair of brown Converse high tops - does that count?? Grin

Otherwise, no, I don't wear brown. I'm not sure whether it's because it doesn't suit me or whether I'm just not keen on it - I don't really have brown furniture/decor either - but I just don't consider it very 'me'. I don't really wear black either - I have a couple of black-based t-shirts, but that's it. I'm more of a grey or navy person for a neutral.

That being said, I have the least fashion sense of anyone I know or have ever known, so I may not be the best source of information on this! Smile

I don't do brown as it just makes me look grubby. I don't have any brown shoes or bags as accents. It's just not my colour (I do have reddish brown and grey hair though).

I like brown leather. I used to have a beautiful brown silk skirt but never really knew what to wear with it, so charity-shopped it. Don't have anything brown at all except boots and bags now.

I'm a HoC Autumn so brown really suits me. But I can't find anything in the shops!

RhythmAndStealth · 27/05/2017 15:54

Do various shades of tan and brown shoes and bags, but not clothes. I think brown fabric is often too flat, whilst brown/tan leather can be rich and glorious.

Most browns really suit me, whereas I look like death in navy. Everything seems to be navy at the moment and brown clothes are hard to come by. I'm hoping it reappears soon as it makes my skin look radiant. I do remember a lot of brown around about 10-15 years ago. There was a lot of brown and salmon pink and brown and turquoise from what I can remember.

neveradullmoment99 · 27/05/2017 16:01

I just dont suit it. So no brown in my wardrobe.

insancerre · 27/05/2017 16:02

No
I have never worn brown

neveradullmoment99 · 27/05/2017 16:02

Oh and brown and salmon pink would be the worst colours on me.
I do have brown leather shoes and bags etc. Just not clothes.

daffodilbrain · 27/05/2017 16:06

Have to say I always fancy it around autumn but actually feel really boring wearing it

squoosh · 27/05/2017 16:31

Brown was big in the 90s. Brown clothes, brown eye shadows, brown lipsticks and liners...

I don't own any brown clothes but I'm sure when it comes back into fashion I will re-investigate.
