Summer chinos for the large of bum and thigh?

I have a smallish waist, but short legs with ample bottom and thighs. Most trousers I try on are gappy at the waist though less so since I had DC and much too tight over the thighs. This is especially unflattering in chinos given the pale colours and lack of stretch.

I am desperate for some summer trousers though. Has anyone found any that might work for my shape recently? Don't mind spending a bit if they are good...

Reporting back on the Joules chinos. Ordered size 10, I have 28 inch waist and 39 inch hips. First thing was they had a tiny fly (I'm talking 2.5 inch zip) and I had to properly wiggle them over my hips to get them on. Then that was fine, they do fit nicely on the waist, coming up to about 1 inch below my belly button. They do gape a tiny bit at the back when I sit down. Leg length was good, they came with each leg rolled up twice and were good on my 27 inch legs.

So the fit was pretty good, but I wore them for an evening just sitting around at home and they definitely stretched. When I took them off, the knees were all baggy and the waist had got bigger. I will try them again but slightly disappointed really...

Yes mine have kneed as well Blair, which is disappointing. Still miles better than most others I've tried though.

I tried the pink but it's brighter than expected and have concluded I am just not a bright pink trouser person. Regardless of fit.
