If you find something you like do you honestly buy 2 or 3 of them/it?

Found some boots I just loved and a pair of skinny jeans. I'm half wondering whether to buy another pair as I don't know if I'll find something similar again. Fits perfectly, very flattering but I'm half thinking it's ridiculous as there will be other clothes/shoes.

I have a vast wardrobe but only wear about 15% of it as I know what suits me and works with my shape. I do get carried away hence the wardrobe collection but if I'm honest I'm more the boots, skinny jeans and blazer type. In all seasons, all weathers.

I have just bought 3 pairs of chinos in black, dark blue and dark green as I wear them a lot here, and they fit me well plus they were on sale.

I occasionally buy the same black top in 2 sizes, so I can have thin/fat days or fitted/slouchy days.

MakingMerry · 16/05/2017 19:59

I didn't use to, but being one of the people who the skinny jeans/ Breton top look did not suit at all, and having had difficulty over the last couple of years in finding any casual clothes which both suited and fitted me, I have now taken to buying several of anything which does. It also prevents the 'favourite top is in the wash' scenario.

Sometimes. I have very skinny calves and most knee high boots are too loose and look like wellies.
If I found a pair I really liked and they were classic I would

dudsville · 16/05/2017 21:20

I used to do this often, but then I'd find with some items that they didn't get the use I was expecting. Now I only do this with a few things. Re jeans/trousers, I stick with two brands and one style in each brand as they're my holy grail. I had favourite underwear but they stopped making my bra and my shape changed for the pants, so I spent a lot of time and money finding my new favourites. For shoes I only wear 3 styles for work and i know which brands I like for them. I will no have to buy shoes, trousers or underwear for years!

I do. Since hitting 30 i've become annoying practical when stocking my wardrobe. I have my favourite shirts , dresses and jeans in all of the colours they are made in.

NotJustAWife · 17/05/2017 09:15

Definitely! I have three pairs of the same trousers from Gap - different colours at the moment but going to buy another black pair in case mine wear out. I also buy Breton tops two at a time as I wear them everyday almost.

GrumpyOldBlonde · 17/05/2017 10:00

I do this when I find the perfect jeans, leggings or black trousers. I think it's worthwhile buying duplicates of the kind of clothes you know you will live in. Also, I tend to buy very classic clothes so chances are I'll still be wearing certain items in years to come (the ideal black t-shirt for example)

I plan to try to find a pair of excellent boots this year and get a couple of pairs as I wear boots daily in winter.

theclick · 17/05/2017 15:00

Yes, but only in colours I actually like. So I just saw a sale on cashmere jumpers in Boden and bought two in black and white. I wouldn't buy one in say - green, because it's not my colour.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 17/05/2017 15:23

No. I do it in different colours, but not the exact same thing more than once. The only item I have 2 or 3 of is H&M's basic black longline vest.

statetrooperstacey · 17/05/2017 15:35

Just bought 7 bras, £5 each! Yes £5! well happySmile 36g and comfortable and lovely and PERKY! Had to really.

CrispyBathTowel · 17/05/2017 15:53

Where did you buy them from State? Am on the look out for new bras

MikeUniformMike · 17/05/2017 16:15

I usually buy two if I absolutely love it, but I'll wear one until it fall apart and often hardly wear the backup. Having said that, some of my duplicates I have kept and they've come round again and they still fit.

( I could do with decluttering though and wear what looks like the same oufit most of the time)

MikeUniformMike · 17/05/2017 16:26

Oh, goodness. Bras. If you find the perfect fit, buy several.

moreshitandnofuckingredemption · 17/05/2017 17:18

Yes for clothes, not for shoes

statetrooperstacey · 17/05/2017 17:22

Crispy- got them in boyes. Theydo black white pink and yellow. They are often in there featured as a special, £5 whole pounds!

maggiethemagpie · 17/05/2017 19:37

Yes occasionally. More often I will try and find an item on ebay when mine has fallen apart.

wiltingfast · 17/05/2017 21:07

Never. I'm afraid I'll get sick of it!
