So one of my closest friends is getting married in June and i have been searching for a dress to wear and not really finding much. I know i have plenty of time but i hate leaving things like this to the last minute.

I have bought this red coast dress which i sort of love.... the only thing i am unsure of is if the off the shoulder look is a bit last year IYSWIM.

What do you think, should i keep it or keep looking?

You look fab. I think leopard print looks great with bright red, but I agree it may be a bit much for a wedding where most people are in florals. I'd just stick to some plain tan sandals.

"upstage the couple"?
Bonkers. You don't wear white, or if the bride has "reserved" another colour and let everyone know, you don't wear that. You don't have to avoid ALL the colours!

Weddings are just stupid now. or rather, some people are really stupid about their weddings.

  • don't wear white - fair enough
  • look smart and like you made an effort - yep
  • remember you're in a church, so bear that in mind - fine

After that, the guests should surely have some scope to express their personalities (and even redeploy things they already have, things they love, things that suit them, etc). you can't be all "it's a wedding, it's all about me, GUESTS IN BEIGE PLEASE

You look fantastic in that dress. Definitely wear it.

And changing photos to black and white because you don't like the colour of a guest's dress Hmm

The only thing if it is a church wedding, or elsewhere religious, you may need to cover your shoulders for the ceremony but a shawl or wrap would do that

I love it and think it looks beautiful on you - very elegant, simple and stunning

The only you could upstage the bride was if you walked with a giant meringue dress with full veil and then snogged the groom.
