Thoughts on this dress for a wedding in June

So one of my closest friends is getting married in June and i have been searching for a dress to wear and not really finding much. I know i have plenty of time but i hate leaving things like this to the last minute.

I have bought this red coast dress which i sort of love.... the only thing i am unsure of is if the off the shoulder look is a bit last year IYSWIM.

What do you think, should i keep it or keep looking?

I disagree shimmer why is a bit of leopard or gold tarty? As for upstaging the bride....really?

It looks lovely on you! Definitely wear it. I've worn a red dress to a wedding before. Certainly didn't upstage the bride. Also didn't really notice what anyone wore to mine so was oblivious to any upstaging there wasn't any

I wish I was going to a wedding so I could wear it.

Oh and I accessorised with patent grey shoes that were quite funky and grey jacket. Looked a bit softer than black but still understated. Dark grey rather than light.

And you've actually sold the off the shoulder look to me. I'm not fussed on the tops of my arms but my shoulders and lower arms are very slim so something cut like that is actually perfect. I hadn't seen it before and was just dismissing them all.

You won't upstage the bride. The bride is the bride.

Wow thank you for all your lovely comments. I very much doubt I could upstage any bride, I have never known a guest to do so at any wedding.

Gorgeous! I'd go with neutral shoes and a colourful chunky necklace with teal and bright pink - these colours really pop with that shade of red.

It's a gorgeous dress and looks lovely on you, but I kind of agree with @shimmeringice
I thought it was a bit of a no no to wear bright red to a wedding?! I love red and it really suits me but I've always avoided it because it draws the eye so much and would really stick out in the photos.

Maybe just check with the bride first? Is she's happy then you're good to go!

The dress is from Coast, although I ordered mine from ASOS.

They are beautiful Scarlett but I'm not very good in stilettos, and certainly not all day. I do have these shoes I wore to a wedding all day last year, they were really comfortable and I danced all night, what'd ya think?

Lady I have mentioned to the bride I was looking for a red dress to wear and her response was 'Red looks great on you'. She has been a friend of mine since primary school so I will check, although not in a way where I suggest upstaging her as l thinks that's quite arrogant. She is the most laid back person ever, and probably one of the nicest people there is in this world, I really don't think she will mind.
