I finally got a sniff of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille...

...and it smells like that Karvol stuff my mum used to put on my pillow in the 1980s when I had a blocked nose.

I'm yet to find a Tom Ford fragrance that knocks my socks off. Just as well considering the price.

I tried Kenzo Elephant that was meant to smell like rampant flowery sex appeal.

I thought I smelt like loo rim block.

And if anyone tries to point out that might reflect more on my sex life than the scent, or that neither is compulsory, I SHALL REPLY IN CAPITALS

The Tom Ford bottles are pretty, the stuff in them not so much.

I'm wearing the Perfume Parlour dupe at the moment and love it. No clue if it smells similar though.

Another vote for Halfeti by Penhaligon's. Most Penhalingon's feel so Victorian and out of place with my life but I walked into a pharmacy in the hood and I sprayed it by accident thinking it was that new one Clandestine Clara. How wrong! It was Halfeti. I've been in love ever since. I couldn't believe this was around for over 2 years and I had no idea! I'm mostly a Killian devotee but I'm being unfaithful at the mo.

I love tobacco, love vanilla, can't stand this one.

I suggest M.Micallef Vanille Orient as an alternative, or Sarah Jessica Parker's Stash.
