Price not an issue. I've tried Estee lauder, bare minerals, younquie. I'm quite pale and want to get some samples online. I use a serum which helps. Primer dries me out. I have dry skin with occasional spots. I want heavy duty coverage that lasts all day. I have a real technique brush but struggling to clean it properly!!

Which one would you recommend? Googled smashbox and not overwhelmed!

Again Laura Mercia gets a good review, but not tried it myself.

I have a suqqu one which is great but quite pricy (I use with the suqqu foundation which I love but is £££).

This is the hydrating one from smashbox that I like

I do probably need to think about my skin care. Taking back what I said earlier my skin is shocking atm. Dry and spotty and blackheads :(

Kat von d lock it did give me that high coverage flawless look, but I don't have any shops near me that sell it and had to guess my colour and buy online.

I use Clarin's BB cream as it is the only foundation that doesn't sit on top of my pores. I wouldn’t say it give me a flawless look but it is pretty good. I use concealer underneath and pressed powder on top and it stays put all day.

Moisturising primers - Garnier Skin Naturals 5 Second Perfect Blur, and Rimmel Fix and Perfect Pro Primer.

Both great for when my skin is more dehydrated /dry/rough. Both leave my skin beautifully smooth and hydrated. Foundation goes on like a dream.
Not so good when I'm extra oily though, although powder and blotting sheets help.

My recommendation is Doll 10 Hydragel foundation

Gingersdohavesouls · 05/04/2017 20:11

I am also incredibly pale (and ginger) with dry patches and the occasion cluster of spots.
I spent months trying to find a full coverage foundation and finally settled on Rimmel Lasting Finish in #091 (light ivory) and I love it!!!
I use a primer and translucent setting powder (a white one) and it lasts all day without that lovely cake-face look lol x

It does sound from your last post that you need to sort skincare out - rather than mask issues with very heavy coverage on a daily basis.

Hot cloth cleansing was a game changer for me.

Lots of brands do this, the most famous being Eve Lom (who started the trend) and Liz Earle whose cleanser is a cult classic now.

I really like the Rodial one - but I tend to use a flannel rather than the muslin cloth it comes with (I buy cheap ones on amazon in bulk and throw them in the wash after each days use).

I did try a Clarisonic brush but it was a bit too abrasive for me (I have eczema) and got pilfered by my DH who loves it.

I've got liz Earle only used it once! Might try again next thank you!
