What is it about bags...

...that cause so much negative reactions??

A poster asks advice about a £20,000 kitchen

A £2,000 watch /ring
and gets great advice/support

...but ask about which designer bag to buy for £1000+ and it's a different story: ie advice to spend it on something else/give to charity

I'm not a big spender so get the 'value' perspective but why do bags cause this reaction?

I just think it's s shame that
A) women have to 'justify' how they spend their money in the first place - not only to themselves but now to others and
B) once they have justified it in their head and make the move toward their purchase they get flamed and likely move back to the point where they question themselves and provably don't end up with the 'treat'

Surely we should be supportive/not post/or post according to the question

I feel quite confident that the two Mulberrys I bought myself in the past four years for £850 and £650 respectively didn't cost as much as the average MNetter appears to spend on gin and wine even in just one year Smile

MsGameandWatch - that's fair enough, sounds like you deserve a nice treat in whatever form

I feel virtuous when I support European artisanal industries by buying beautiful hand made luxury goods Wink

I have a much harder time spending large sums of money on things where the ethics behind them are questionable.
