Best cream/hot cloth cleanser on a budget?

I'm looking to cut down on my spending for the next few months and I'm looking for a dupe for my favourite cleanser (A'kin Rose and Geranium cleanser) and just can't find anything that is as good or smells as lovely. I've tried various ones - Liz Earle, No 7, Superdrug etc. The No 7 one is nearly as good, but I do prefer the A'kin one.

Does anyone have any recommendations I may not have tried - that are cheaper than £16 for 200ml?

I use The Bodyshop Camomile Cleansing Butter, Superdrug Naturally Radiant, or Tropic Skincare hot cloth cleanser. I like The Bodyshop vitamin E range but haven't tried their cleanser.

I tried Lush Ultrabland because a lot of mumsnetters recommended it, and it was horrible - like spreading thick lard on my face. I had to use soap to clean it off afterwards.

Have you tried the camomile one in body shop? That's lovely.

Plain organic grape seed oil with vitamin e to stop it going rancid will work as well as anything else.

Please don't use Aqueous cream on your face. It is full of alcohol, SLS and paraffin, absolutely nothing good in there at all. Look

La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo Cleanser is lovely. Costs about £12/14 for 200ml but last for ages as you only need a small amount each time.

The Aldi one gets great reviews.

Another vote for the Una Brennan Rose one from me, it's really lovely.

I bought the Waitrose pure one today. Strangely like vaseline but a bit gritty, however I like the feeling of my skin afterwards, just wasn't quite expecting what came out of the tube!

I had a reaction to Dr O rose Otto - or was it pomegranate? But their vitamin e range is v good.

Try Logona organic rose cleansing milk - gorgeous and within budget.

I bulk bought the Aldi dupe of Liz Earle and it is excellent. The rest of the time, I use Una Brennan.

Waitrose Pure Cleansing Milk as quite a few things in it which may not be good for those with acne and/or sensitive skin. Just because it's paraben free, doesn't mean other things are great ingredients. See here

Ponds cold cream. Gets all your make up off and your skin is really soft. Take it off with a warm, damp cloth. Old fashioned but it’s cited regularly in articles about how fab it is. Only place I can find it these days is boots.

I notice that the Aldi Liz Earle dupe will be coming back this Thursday. It's absolutely worth stocking up on.

Hi OP I really like Ponds cold cream, aqueous cream or coconut oil for cleansing like this.

PolkaDottyRose · 27/11/2017 17:42

Just started using the Una Brennan Rose one (and oil cleansing with the rose oil). Both lovely.
