Best cream/hot cloth cleanser on a budget?

I'm looking to cut down on my spending for the next few months and I'm looking for a dupe for my favourite cleanser (A'kin Rose and Geranium cleanser) and just can't find anything that is as good or smells as lovely. I've tried various ones - Liz Earle, No 7, Superdrug etc. The No 7 one is nearly as good, but I do prefer the A'kin one.

Does anyone have any recommendations I may not have tried - that are cheaper than £16 for 200ml?

Lush ultra bland. It has a very subtle smell but is lovely on the skin and a little goes a long way.

ScarlettDarling · 12/01/2017 19:08

I second the Body shop camomile cleansing balm used with a muslin. It feels divine and I know this sounds bizarre but I'm sure my stubby eyelashes have got longer and glossier since I started removing my makeup with it!

Wait until the body shop have got one of their frequent 40% off promotions and stock up. It's gorgeous stuff.

TheBitterBoy · 12/01/2017 19:11

I like this one by Pure at M&S

sparechange · 12/01/2017 19:12

Soap and Glory although it stings my eyes

FiddleFigs · 12/01/2017 19:13

Have you tried the Boots Botanics range? I use the softening cleanser with a hot cloth. I much prefer it to Liz Earle's (which I used to use before I switched in order to save some £s).

MinervaMcG · 12/01/2017 19:17

As well as the Soap&Glory one, another vote for the M&S Pure one. I got a sample on last year's advent calendar and really liked it.

JLbaby · 12/01/2017 19:35

Thanks all. Figure17a - I'm not after a luxury product at all, the opposite actually, I want to save money!

Where do you get aqueous cream?

I cannot live without the Body Shop Camomile balm-it just melts off my make up and I wear very stubborn foundation! I only use it at night though.

Figure17a · 12/01/2017 19:45

Sorry Op, it was you comment about nit finding anything that smells good. Aqueous cream doesn't really smell if anything but us v. Cheap. A huge tub for between £1&2 at any chemist and most supermarkets.

ilovewelshrarebit123 · 12/01/2017 19:56

M&S do a Pure range hot cloth cleanser that is really good.

I love Liz Earle personally, but I'm poor at the moment so using the Superdrug one, it's OK but prefer LE.

TheSnorkMaidenReturns · 12/01/2017 20:03

That M&S one looks good. I got this Clinique one for Christmas. Love it but not cheap.

Sparkletastic · 12/01/2017 20:05

Another vote for Soap and Glory Ultimelt. Better than Liz Earle and Eve Lom.

Karlakitten1 · 12/01/2017 20:07

I can also recommend the good things manuka honey, I got it from boots.

Doobigetta · 12/01/2017 20:08

I second the Una Brennan recommendation- it's very gentle, lovely.

Wineoclock81 · 24/11/2017 18:53

Superdrug naturally radiant hot cloth cleanser works for me .... i love the liz earle too but its a bit pricey

goose1964 · 24/11/2017 18:55

I Cameron here to recommend the bee good cream cleanser it smells heavenly, but I see someone got here first

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/11/2017 23:14

Good Things Manuka Honey smells adorable Smile

Love it , rich and creamy , wash off with a muslin cloth (and Non Tested if that's an important factor to you)

Kion · 25/11/2017 00:52

Waitrose Pure hot cloth cleanser. The whole range is great. I say this after years of spending a fortune on premium products for my sensitive acne prone skin.
It's also on 3 for 2 or half price regularly so I stock up. Usual price for the hot cloth cleanser is £5.

AuntyElle · 25/11/2017 01:07

OP, aqueous cream is SLS and soft paraffin. That’s why it’s so cheap!

Almahart · 25/11/2017 08:25

Waitrose Pure is the best I've tried! Lovely and grainy. Boots botanical also pretty good

FurryTrousers · 25/11/2017 08:40

I really like Astral cream - cheap, lasts for ages, smells...ok. Grin

taytotayto111 · 25/11/2017 13:45

I'm ashamed to say I've tried most of them over the years and REALLY adored Liz Earle but about 2 years ago someone on here recommended the Superdrug one. Let's just say I done buy one at a time I usually buy 6 it's that good I dread running out. To be honest I snap it up when it's bogof, which is an offer they run a lot.

explodingkittens · 26/11/2017 12:04

The Waitrose Pure one is brilliant for a fiver. Love it.

1Wanda1 · 26/11/2017 13:14

Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm is really nice, and smells lovely

mamalovesmojitos · 26/11/2017 13:43

Another vote for the body shop camomile balm. Takes everything off and doesn't irritate my very sensitive eyes.
