Do you have any 'Style Rules'?

These days I generally believe that you should wear what the hell you like but I can clearly remember thinks from my youth that were an absolute no no.

My mum was horrified when I went out in a coat with my skirt hanging down a couple of inches from the bottom. (This was the 80's).

I would never have worn red and green together, whereas now I have a pair of bottle green trousers that I like with a dark red jumper and hope that I don't look too much like an extra from Elf.

Do you have any particular 'rules' that you stick to?

Leather flip flops are bordering on acceptable. But you can get more stylish sandals and just as light.

Having said that, I do wear fleeces, for example, or sport gear, but I wouldn't consider them stylish. They're for sports or when I don't care.
Same as flip-flops. For a trip to the supermarket, ok, just about acceptable, but not for going to a restaurant or work.

I hate fleeces. I don't hate people who wear them but I can't stand them on me.

I changed jobs recently and after I accepted the post I had a nightmare moment when I realised a lot of staff on their website were wearing fleeces.
It was almost a deal breaker. I thought i might have to wear one as uniform.

Luckily they are for clinical staff only Grin

I'm more particular about my exercise gear than more normal clothes...I exercise in public, in tight fitting lycra, it needs to fit properly and make me feel good.
But I agree with not following everyone else's rules. I have big boobs but contrary to most people's opinion I shouldn't wear polo necks but I do and they suit me - I have a long neck and a narrow frame and always wear a balcony bra - no mono boob and I feel great in a polo neck - as long as it isn't ribbed and has sleeves. Scoop necks and v neck tops make me feel frumpy, it's always best to suit yourself.
