Opinions please - what do you think of this dress for me to wear to my mother's wedding

Its this dress

I don't want to look a ponce. I'm not a bridesmaid or anything but I do want to look my best.

I'm on a diet, have lost over a stone so far and if I stay on track should be easily a size 14 by the time of the wedding. I have good legs, nice arms & shoulders but large norks (even when slimmer). Hair v similar to models (but more of abirds nest, obv)

I won't consider it if I don't get to size 14.

I like the shoes, too but the bag is a bit

The problem with next is the quatities they churn everything out in...nice dress though.

MrsBadger · 16/02/2007 11:40

oh no, tis awful
even the model looks like she has no waist.

MamaG · 16/02/2007 11:41

I can't afford more than £100 for the whole outfit

DO wnat something new though.,

If norks need support, then maybe a halterneck to show off arms and shoulders?

MrsBadger · 16/02/2007 11:44

lots of nicer dresses in Next atm
would you wear black?
this could look super on curves.

I hae literally started looking today so no, not been anywhere else.

I do like that dress MRs B, but am worried that I might give out hte wrong message as i had a really hard time when Dad died.

Is this too much pattern/volume? I love the shape of the one MrsBadger linked to from Next.

MamaG · 16/02/2007 11:49

oops, did i just makie this thread into a tumbleweed thread?

OP posts:
MamaG · 16/02/2007 11:50

yes and yes jackieno

I'm scared of colour & volume!

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 16/02/2007 11:51

I get you MamaG

I know this is pushing the budget but this shape is v flattering on most people -may be a bit much depending on size of nork though.
Also cheaper version in a v pretty green .

JackieNo · 16/02/2007 11:52

OK - this is pretty, but muted colours?

JackieNo · 16/02/2007 11:53

This is pretty too. But more patterned.

MamaG · 16/02/2007 11:54

ooh thanks I like jackieno's dress and MrsB's green one.

The spotty one is nice, but I'd feel so self-concious in such a big pattern

OP posts:
JackieNo · 16/02/2007 11:54

And I like this one in all the 3 colours.

MamaG · 16/02/2007 11:55

hmm
second jackieno verging on "scared" but it IS pretty

OP posts:
MamaG · 16/02/2007 11:55

I agree OP dress is a bit too evening wear. The link from badger (next one and green moonsoon ones) are delish!
