Are these nice boots?

I love them, saw them in Schuh earlier and almost bought them. Zip up side. I'm a size 8 to 10 and wear lots of make up and stuff if that helps?

Are these nice boots?

I think those boots are really horrible. I can't think of any way they could be worn that would look nice and/ or flattering. Sorry

BusterGonad · 04/12/2016 03:54

I think the boots would look lovely with really tight jeans and a slouchy jumper. Kind of like an art teacher look! Lol

deborah66 · 04/12/2016 04:01

If you like them OP then wear them.

Sadik · 04/12/2016 15:44

I like them though I couldn't wear that height heel. I've got flat knee high lace up vaguely military looking boots, which aren't a million miles away in feel - I mostly wear them with dresses (atm for Christmas season with a fitted short-ish dress from el Corte Ingles with a slight sparkle woven into it + red tartan tights).

Sadik · 04/12/2016 15:46

I'd also wear those boots with calf length swirly skirt, victorian blouse and steampunk corset, but I get the feel that isn't the look you're after Grin

(BTW what are 'lurpy' clothes . . .? I think your predictive text ate your message a little.)

SouthWestmom · 04/12/2016 18:07

Not quite my usual style Sadik !

Lurpy is like loose, baggy, asymmetrical, part fitted ....

Ah, I understand. Not sure those boots go with that look . . .

The cape dress is cool, though, I wouldn't have thought of it as a young person's outfit? Does it really really not work :(

Vixxfacee · 04/12/2016 18:36

They are really nice. I like the brown knee high timbs too.

DailyMailSucksAss · 04/12/2016 18:39

I personally don't like laceup styles. They rarely look flattering on my chubby legs

SpeckledyBanana · 04/12/2016 18:57

Lurpy. Thay's my favourite style too. I didn't know it had a name!

SpeckledyBanana · 04/12/2016 18:59

Oh hold on, Google says lurpy is something quiet different Confused

SouthWestmom · 04/12/2016 19:08

Oh interesting. I think our lurpy may have evolved as a family word I think everyone else knows!

The dress is amazing in my head and horrible on.

Love the victorian prostitute description, my thoughts exactly, sorry.

SouthWestmom · 04/12/2016 21:07

Dammit.

Btw I like the linked cheaper ones but the laces don't go all the way up.

I've got them. They don't look Victorian prostitute in the flesh at all. They also are not uncomfortable to wear - Timberland do comfortable soles and I wear them all day long easily. They're nubuck, which might not show up well on photos.

I wear them to work, with knee length/midi skirts or with jeans/black skinnies. They go very nicely with my military jacket.

I'm really surprised a lot of you think they have that particular vibe, as I am very conscious of never coming across that way and I would never in a million years have said that about these boots.

I like them a lot and I dress well. OP I'd say wait for the sales (I got mine on a deal), then have a go and see how they are!

SouthWestmom · 05/12/2016 07:38

Ha! Vindicated!

Got to be thigh high boots in crushed velvet for me, this seasons fashion, got these ones here www.essexglam.co.uk

Been great in this cold weather too, don't normally go for over the knees but loving them.

HolgerDanske · 05/12/2016 21:33

I work in an office, heh. Business casual and generally dress quite conservatively but with a hint of edge, if you like. Not particularly into steam punk, but I was a youngster during the nineties grunge years so maybe that's influenced me a bit?
