Would you please tell me if this is a ridiculous bridal shoe choice?

Getting married next August. Have fallen in love with these shoes but I'm not sure if the love will wear off and I'll look like a doughnut. Plus they are £255 with 20% off today.

Opinions, please. I am 23, we're a quirky couple having a quirky wedding. Do these cross the line of different to weird? Is it ridiculous to spend so much on one pair of shoes?

If you have a long dress the glitter might catch on the fabric at the hem.

I think they are fun

Mine were bright blue suede.

I like that I can wear my wedding shoes for other special occasions.
You could wear those with other clothes too.

AGruffaloCrumble · 31/10/2016 19:08

First dress

Second dress

Both only £599! I forgot to post the front of the second one Blush not sure if either will suit my hourglass yet but I love them. Need to get going on the dress shop!

Rachel Simpson shoes are beautiful. Vintage style, in several colours. Mine were my something blue Smile

GinIsIn · 31/10/2016 19:12

The first one is so beautiful! I'm very hourglass too and it's quite similar to the one I wore actually!

OlennasWimple · 31/10/2016 19:13

I like them! But you would need to wear a tea length dress with them (for style and practical reasons), and neither of the dresses you have linked would really work with those shoes.

I like the second shoes you linked to also. Come back here when you have your dress sorted (or at least whittled down to some real possibles)

Madbengalmum · 31/10/2016 19:17

You could consider a pair of metallic silver or gold jimmy choo shoes? If budget does not stretch there are lots of worn once jc's on ebay. Metallic shoes are more use if you want to wear again.

AGruffaloCrumble · 31/10/2016 19:18

Yes Olenna I'm getting too ahead of myself. DM is insistent I don't need to get my dress until March but I don't think you can get much done until you're decided on a dress.

Fenella Oh good, I remain hopeful they'll look nice! I bet you looked ace. Good taste!

I love the first dress. Love the idea of blue shoes. Good luck Flowers!

Mollykate12 · 31/10/2016 19:20

Those shoes are adorable! If you're having a quirky wedding then they definitely suit, even with a traditional wedding you could still wear them, if you like them then go for it! Don't let other people say they're too expensive, if you have the money then you can spend it on whatever you want, it's your special day. For my wedding I'm wearing converse even though it's mainly traditional, I don't care what anyone else thinks, neither should you

GinIsIn · 31/10/2016 19:21

The dress can take up to 9 months as well so it's best to order as far in advance as you can.

I love these

Discogeek · 31/10/2016 19:30

Ooh I was just coming on to say Rachel Simpson shoes and they've already been mentioned!

I wore a pair very similar to the last phone for my wedding and have worn them 3 or 4 times since. They are hands down the comfiest shoes I have ever owned, I would recommend any day of the week.

In fact I'm tempted to buy myself another pair as they're so pretty Smile

Discogeek · 31/10/2016 19:31

*pair not phone!

AGruffaloCrumble · 31/10/2016 19:34

If you do Disco I've just found a 10% off code Wink

Have you looked at Ruby Shoo? I think they had some pretty low glittery shoes recently.

SplodgeBear1988 · 31/10/2016 20:05

I had these irregular choice shoes for my wedding.
You can get heal stop things that help spread your weight and are ment to stop you sinking into grass.

Overthinker2016 · 31/10/2016 20:23

Love the Charlotte Olympia ones but £££££!Shock

QuietNinjaTardis · 31/10/2016 20:47

Ruby shoo have got some nice weddingy shoes. Harriet Wilde shoes are gorgeous but £££ I got a pair from her that she found in her workshop after she'd sold out of my size in the style I liked. Got huge discount as it was a sample pair. Would love to buy the Sakura just to wear all the time as it's the most beautiful shoe I've ever seen! 😩

hollyisalovelyname · 31/10/2016 21:38

The dresses are stunning.
I hate the shoes.
Well you did ask.

Vintagegirl1 · 31/10/2016 21:51

Those shoes do NOT go with those dresses at all! I am a fan of slightly quirky shoes as well but you really need a far shorter dress for the pair you posted. I have gold glitter mary jane style from Red or Dead and they are gorgeous and comfy.

CurlsLDN · 01/11/2016 07:11

Dm is definitely wrong about timing for the dress! As a pp said most wedding dress shops take 6-9 months to order it in for you (and my dress only cost £600, but was still the same situ)
So get on the dress shopping, then find shoes to suit. If you really love the bunny ears they'll be in countless promotions by August, though I think the Rachel Simpson ones are much more beautiful

AGruffaloCrumble · 01/11/2016 07:55

I think I'm going to go for the Rachel Simpson ones if they suit once I've bought the dress. I still love the bunny shoes but I agree I could get much more shoe for my money.
I have tried telling DM but I'm 6 months PP and losing weight and she doesn't see the reason to buy and then alter down but I'm going to have to do that regardless. FWIW those dresses are off the rack, take home the same day but I do also want to go to a boutique and if I found the one there then I would be stuck for timings. I'm just going to up and go without her at this rate.
