Would you please tell me if this is a ridiculous bridal shoe choice?

Getting married next August. Have fallen in love with these shoes but I'm not sure if the love will wear off and I'll look like a doughnut. Plus they are £255 with 20% off today.

Opinions, please. I am 23, we're a quirky couple having a quirky wedding. Do these cross the line of different to weird? Is it ridiculous to spend so much on one pair of shoes?

Though, having read updates they are probably too traditional for your tastes.

fakefuss · 31/10/2016 14:31

ASOS have 20% off today for Halloween! not sure if I'm allowed to post codes, but it's on their home page..

My friend had lace covered Rainbow Club shoes and dyed them. So the shoe was purple and the lace stayed cream. That's another option Smile

I don't really want just glitter, it was the ears that caught my eye but I was considering cutting out some cardboard and sticking them onto a pair of cheaper glitter heels Grin

I know, that's what started off this whole shall I/shan't I debacle! DP insists I should but I could stretch the money a lot further on something else, like our honeymoon.

Potential dresses, which I should probably sort first before buying shoes for a theoretical dress. Maybe if I had a short dress I could spring for it, but I think I definitely want long.

Also, I am cheaping out on my dress as both of those are £599 so it seems a bit silly to have shoes that are half the price of my dress.

As much as I love Minna's work, I don't think these go with a wedding dress.

I agree that Charlotte Olympia would be the best brand for you to try.

harrypoooter · 31/10/2016 14:39

I love them, but it's party season and there will be a milllion squillion other sparkly shoes out in the next few months that might not cost 250 quid x

AGruffaloCrumble · 31/10/2016 14:40

Wow Frick, those are amazing!

So good things about the Rainbow Club shoes? I just had a look and I like the t-bars.

Grandmother brick heels don't really "go" with those dresses tbh.

They also look like a a boring pair of shoes who are trying desperately hard to be quirky and not really pulling it off.

Those Charlotte Olympia ones on other hand..... oh wow!

I'm a bit stuck with a blocky heel or at least a thick one really, as I struggle to walk in the little spindly ones. Also my venue is a lot of gardens and grass so it would be ideal to have something that's not going to sink.

I like these, if the heel was a smidge thicker.

Have you checked out Irregular Choice? These were mine http://www.irregularchoice.com/womens/mrs-lower.html?SID=U (loved them) but they have lots of gorgeous and quirky styles, for less than half the price of the bunny shoes. Good luck!

specialsubject · 31/10/2016 17:06

if you can cope with the heel height, fine, although the 'bunny ears' don't really look like bunny ears.

also make sure they won't rub the top of your feet, because blisters show on your face.

Have a look at Charlotte Mills Bridal Shoes, absolutely beautiful shoes that can be worn again.

In terms of comfortable t-bars, have a look at Rachel Simpson shoes. The style will really go with the dress. (First dress is beautiful!) The heels look thin but they are so cleverly designed they really support your foot. I lasted all day in mine. And I can't wear heels at all! rachelsimpsonshoes.co.uk/shop/isabelle-ice-blue.html

Fenella I would love a pair of Rachel Simpson shoes but SIL had them at her wedding and they featured quite heavily. It's a shame as well as I actually work for someone who sells them and can get money off. They are beautiful and timeless!

Actually SIL had the Mimosa ones, I could probably get away with a t-bar alternative..

Okay, I think I like these much more than the bunnies!

I thought 'bunny ears' straight away so I think they look like they're designed to.

Not my kind of thing but think they're gorgeous if they are your kind of thing!. I think they'd look beautiful on a bride that loved them.

b0ne · 31/10/2016 18:49

Those last ones are GORGEOUS

blueistheonlycolourwefeel · 31/10/2016 18:52

Have a look at Iron fist too and there's also a great shoe shop called Scorpio shoes who sell some quirky shoes. Happy shopping!!

GinIsIn · 31/10/2016 19:00

I LOVE those ones!! And Rachel Simpson shoes being delicate and timeless I don't think it matters if someone else has worn them! I wore the green mimosas for my wedding and my best friend actually wore mine for hers as well as her something borrowed and nobody batted an eyelid!

GinIsIn · 31/10/2016 19:01

Also those last ones would look so amazing with your dress choice! Who is the first dress by, by the way - it's stunning!!

CantChoose · 31/10/2016 19:02

I love those last ones and I don't think there's any problem spending as much on the shoes as the dress - I think my shoes were more than my dress tbh, I had navy Emmy ones and I've worn them lots since... I do like the first pair too but agree with PP that they look cheaper than they are.

OhTheRoses · 31/10/2016 19:02

Have you thought about visiting a specialist dance shop. They have glittery shoes that tend to be very comfortable.
