Would they look ok with dresses/leggings etc?

Too clunky i think for dresses/ leggings.

Lapinlapin · 11/09/2016 09:34

I like them!

But probably best to ignore me. I don't think I really fit in on style and beauty!

NicknameUsed · 11/09/2016 09:34

They would look OK on a very wintry day with jeans, but look to workman-like for dresses IMO.

DavetheCat2001 · 11/09/2016 09:41

hmm..yes I see your point re them being clunky.

I've ordered them to try on and will return them if no good.

Btw there is a working 20% off voucher code for Clarks running at the moment: BTS16 - if anyone is thinking of ordering anything Smile

Agree with the pp who said they'd work on a wintry day with jeans. They're definitely an "outdoor" boot, for going to the park etc, rather than something you could wear for work. I wouldn't put them with dresses unless you want to look like a Fat Face advert.

DoreenLethal · 11/09/2016 10:22

I would wear them with dresses. But then again I wear my work boots [I am a gardener] with dresses and nobody runs off shrieking.

SnugglySnerd · 11/09/2016 10:24

I like them and would probably wear them with everything all winter!

GinAndOnIt · 11/09/2016 11:06

I think the height of them is wrong for dresses. I know someone who wears boots like these, and despite having very slim, long legs, she does look rather clumpy and masculine in them.

Runningupthathill82 · 11/09/2016 11:13

Gin has it. It's not just the clumpiness that's the issue, it's absolutely the height. These boots would cut off at around the widest part of the calf and look really odd with any length of skirt or dress.

DavetheCat2001 · 11/09/2016 13:10

I shall take a pic of me in a skirt with them when they arrive Grin

Northernlurker · 11/09/2016 15:32

I think they're nice. Had my eye on them for a while actually so thanks for the code, I got the black ones.

DavetheCat2001 · 11/09/2016 17:59

no worries Northernlurker

I'd be interested to see a pic of your black ones when they arrive Smile

I think they're lovely and would be great with dresses. I don't like the silly little ankle boots that most people think look good with dresses atm. They look more like overgrown shoes. These ones are definitely boots and look ace.

DoreenLethal · 12/09/2016 08:35

I know someone who wears boots like these, and despite having very slim, long legs, she does look rather clumpy and masculine in them

Masculine? Is she wanging her penis about as surely that is the only way to really look masculine? This whole 'women must fart flowers in pretty lace dresses to be feminine' really gets my fucking goat. Fuck that shit.

DavetheCat2001 · 12/09/2016 08:52

haha Doreen!

OP posts:
FluffyFluffster · 12/09/2016 09:00

I like them. I would wear them with jeans or leggings and a patterned floaty tunic dress thing.

GinAndOnIt · 12/09/2016 09:37

Fair point Doreen

Dave, if you like the boots, great. Wear them and rock them. It's good that everyone has different tastes. But I have to say, it does rather seem like you didn't actually want opinions on the boots other than 'they're lovely', so I'm wondering why you asked the question to begin with.

DoreenLethal · 12/09/2016 09:41

haha Doreen!

I like them - I had to chuck [well recycle] my non-work boots last week so I've bought some. Lets be clunky and masculine together [my bazookas do tend to give the game away unfortunately]. Vive le revolution in chunky brown suede boots. With decent return policy natch, just in case they really do look too 'masculine'.

DavetheCat2001 · 12/09/2016 09:56

Eh Gin?

Of course I wanted opinions, hence starting the thread.

I don't think I have indicated I only wanted to hear positive things at all, unless you can point me to where I have?

Was simply laughing at Doreen's comment

What are you on about Gin?

I like them OP and they'd go with anything.

I have these Clarks National Sugar boots and do wear them with leggings and a tunic. They are on the more 'clumpy' side of boots and probably wouldn't go with a delicate dress...I suppose it depends ont he dress

toastymarshmallow · 12/09/2016 10:51

Oh they are lovely. I would wear them with everything.

I am on a cheaper budget and I am eyeing up these from new look.

But they aren't as nice so I am having some boot envy right now. :o

NotSureYet · 12/09/2016 11:01

They'd be really cute with leggings and dresses. I quite like having contrasting styles in the same outfit, like a flowery/floaty dress with warm leggings and boots in the winter. It's an awesome way to extend the use of summery dresses too. I'm forever just throwing thick tights or leggings on under the summer dress with a nice warm cardigan. Super cute. Rock the boots!!

ToffeeForEveryone · 12/09/2016 11:12

I have the knee length version and wear them with dresses: www.clarks.co.uk/p/26121588

They might look a bit chunky as ankle boots, but really it depends on the dress surely?
