Pretty tea style dress

I'm going out in a couple of weeks, just to pubs etc so don't want to be too dressy but want to look nice, especially since I have lost 1.5 stone (still have a long way to go!).

I like wearing tea style dresses, vintage (NOT lindybop!) /boho style dresses.

I have a beige boyfriend blazer I would wear with it and would either wear pumps or Chelsea boots depending on weather.

I'm a size 16/18 and have a budget of about £50, but would prefer to spend less.

Any ideas?

They're pretty generous I would say. Someone asked me to measure them armpit to armpit! The Autumn one was 24 inches across and the other one was 22.5-23 inches across. But I don't think one can really measure that kind of fabric when it's flat or hanging up because of the way it drapes.

I would love to buy them again in a smaller size. In fact I do have the navy one in a thinspirational 12 but it doesn't quite fit me yet! I'll miss the Autumn one though as I love the colours.

OP I love the festival floral asos one you posted. Its fab. I am always on the lookout for the dresses you describe. The drape of the dresses is very dependent on the fabric. The Lindyhop ones make me look comical, I'm too short and totally the wrong shape and style for them. I feel like I'm in fancy dress.

I ordered from Carousel before and I wouldn't really recommend them. They are very small fitting and my already big hips look absolutely huge in them. There is one particular style, straight up and down that look ok but the ones that have any sort of waist add about three stone to me and are tight across the stomach or boobs.

I have found some in Oasis www.oasis-stores.com/ie/clothing/dresses/sashiko-bird-skater-dress/059588.html?dwvar_059588_color=19&position=34&cgid=dresses#page=3&start=34&categoryID=dresses. This is nice on and is within budget.

That's exactly how I feel in the lindyhop, lady v etc etc dresses mrboot. Very much like fancy dress, I don't feel like myself in them. I'm very busty and they just make me look so matronly!

I might order the Asos one I like in a 16, it's worth a try, it may fit.

That oasis one is very pretty but I think a large in oasis equates to about a 14/16 which is too small!

Wallis often have pretty dresses in. Size and material can vary though.

I just spotted this within budget

I don't think I'd wear it tbh as I don't go for the 'cute' look as I'd look like I was wearing one of my four year old's dresses but I think its fun.

MrBoot · 21/08/2016 22:56

I like this a lot www.bryonyandco.com/womens-dresses-c48/doris-dress-in-blue-and-white-check-p1230 but unsure what the sizing is like. Teamed with www.bryonyandco.com/womens-dresses-c48/adults-classic-cardigan-in-sky-blue-p473, it would look very sweet.

I have several of these dresses. Very reasonably priced for the quality.

Not described as a tea dress but is a bit of a shirt dress/tea dress hybrid to me. I bought a nice tea dress in the sales at debenhams and I think that was mantaray, hence why I looked.
