I think Jamie Bells ears are bigger! And DSs hair is lighter (though he is sporting a 1980s barnet!), and his jaw a teeny bit widea, but he looks a bit like him in the pics of JB aged about 18 which I am incapable of linking to

Scuppered on sundowner front as it is raining Sad Though still hot Wink However no we get to try the huge complimentary umbrellas! Not sure how we'll fit them down the street with the mad traffic/pedestrians Grin

Or Seven Stories in Newcastle? I rather love Newcastle.

herbaceous · 26/08/2016 09:09

Thanks NU! Considering an animal park near Morpeth, due to nagging by DS. But hoping for a spot of Baltic tomorrow! Must dash - packing to leave cottage...

motherinferior · 26/08/2016 09:16

DSis recommends the Herb Garden ('best salads ever and good pizza') and Dat Bar ('excellent burgers and wide range of beer'). Perhaps insufficiently bistro-oid?

Cremolafoam · 26/08/2016 11:17

Cremo that looks rather fab. I will reply properly when I have my glasses - just walked from Broadstairs to Margate with DH - now having smoothie and shake in the bright sun Smile When are you here MrsS? Or have I missed your seaside hol?

OP posts:
Collymollypuff · 26/08/2016 11:37

Crem, it all sounds so fab! Really looking forward to it.

Here's my choice:

Molly: Heritage tomato salad; Risotto; Eton Mess

I'm allergic to wheat, but am 99.9% sure that all of that is gluten-free - they are my usual menu choices.

I love the way your menu is shouting at us EAT ME. Very Crepey. Grin Appaz the new name for Eton Mess is Brexit.

Cremolafoam · 26/08/2016 12:06

[grin][grin]@Brexit pudding.

wordassociationfootball · 26/08/2016 12:10

Same as Molly please. (LOVE Brexit pudding Molly)

Forgot to add Crem. Saw a Dublin Youth Theatre show at Abbey -"Rising". All about beliefs and protest. Post show fam chat was pretty low brow ("I liked the girl in the grey top best" "The boy in the red t-shirt looked like he played a lot of video games") but pro-choice/Love Them Both sparked some deeper stuff.

motherinferior · 26/08/2016 12:43

I can't decide...!

Rosebag · 26/08/2016 12:49

How scrummy cremo

Heritage tomato salad
Vegetarian lasagne
pannacotta

Delicious!

Cremolafoam · 26/08/2016 13:03

Oh Bolleaux! Hes just said it will be the autumn menu now. So HOLD OFF FOR A MINUTE!
NEW MENU LATER

Sorry everyone.

Lalsy · 26/08/2016 13:04

Mmmm, Cremo

Heritage tomato salad
Risotto
Eton Mess
(will not be put off by Brexit pudding Grin).
Please

Rosebag · 26/08/2016 13:34

Don't worry cremo. Will re order.,,

I have escaped to a tranquil sunny beach alone. Dh arrived on the train and he and DD have gone off somewhere. Have friends to supper so a bit of a cook in later. I am certainly in need of a couple of hours space. DS is on s flight to Helsinki for his post exam funs.

motherinferior · 26/08/2016 13:48

I am sans enfants and DP proposes we drive out to Kent for a pub supper later. A dateShock

bigTillyMint · 26/08/2016 15:23

MI, DH and I are on a date. Currently on the beach in Broadstairs Grin

OP posts:
Rosebag · 26/08/2016 15:35

Liking the sound of all this dating lark. My problem is I've got DD playing gooseberry....

NUFC69 · 26/08/2016 15:57

My DH left at 10 this morning and has just texted to say that they have had so many breakdowns/punctures, etc., he will not be home until at least 5.30. I guess as soon as he has eaten his dinner he will be asleep in his chair, so no Friday date night here either, Rose.

I hope you have enjoyed your time at Whitehouse Farm, Herbs - it was one of the places that school used to take my DC to when they were at primary. DH and I could have come and taken you all out for a meal tonight at our favourite (cheap) Italian in Jesmond if I had known you were in Newcastle.

Crem, the menu sounded lovely - I am sure the Autumn version will be just as good.

CointreauVersial · 26/08/2016 16:46

Am salivating at Crem's menu, even if it's the wrong one. And Grin at Brexit Pudding. DH's boss is retiring in a couple of weeks; his initials are SM, so it's on everyone's calendars, and referred to, as "Smexit". This one will run and run....

Broadstairs beach - how lovely! And I'm sighing over the descriptions of Newcastle and the nearby coast - my XBF from my early 20s was a Geordie, and we made quite a few trips up there. And I used to go to Seaton Delaval on business regularly. I always said I'd love to live in Newcastle if someone would kindly move it 200 miles further south.

motherinferior · 26/08/2016 18:02

Third feature of the week sent off (two were written from scratch); invoices for over a grand written; boot in to chase unpaid invoices; bring on the bank holiday weekend!

addle · 26/08/2016 18:19

Brilliant, MI. esp in such glorious weather

Rose - where is your lovely quiet beach?

I may be off to Margate with DH for the day on Monday. Would dreamland count as a date?

That menu looked lovely Crem. Have high hopes for v2

bigTillyMint · 26/08/2016 18:59

Er, possibly Addle. If you are a teenager Grin We didn't brave Dreamland, but I can recommend the smoothies in a café in that square oppositeish the Tate. And the train to Broadstairs Wink

Home now. About to try MI's dyebrow stuffShock

OP posts:
MrsSchadenfreude · 26/08/2016 19:16

We will be in Margit as of tomorrow for a week. Am persuadable for drinks, smoothies and ice cream.

Cremolafoam · 26/08/2016 19:56

Oh crap, poor old dad has had a fall ( as getting out of car) and broken God knows what, femur definitely, possibly hip, possibly arm. Mum is up to High Doh as you would expect, but didn't phone an ambulance until she and two neighbours lifted dad onto a garden chair, took him in the house and made everyone a nice cup of tea. Dear knows what extra damage that did, but obviously I didn't say that. Off to meet them at the hospital now.
Maybe I'll have a nice gin and tonic first eh?ShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShockShock

bigTillyMint · 26/08/2016 20:02

Oh no Cremo! I guess your DM didn't think that he might have broken something. Get your G&T and relax Wink - there won't be anything you can do other than sit there and wait with them!
