Rudy, I hope ds is better today!
Rose, very well done to your dd. And hooray for the end of school.
Woo, BD, hope you are getting the same lovely weather at Beachy's as we have further west.
Have fun, Beachy!
My sympathies to all those enduring the stress of a results day today. I hope that all is well with all the dcs opening their envelopes this morning.
Re: eyebrow dye - as my eyebrows are the one remnant of the very blond hair I had in childhood, I have been dyeing them for about 25 years. I use the Colorsport 30 Day Mascara (lash dye) in brown and leave it on for a bare 2 mins. Any longer and I end up with caterpillar brows. I also use the same stuff in black on my lashes. It's easy to do yourself. I find mascara crumbles and flakes down my face, probably because I have extraordinarily deep-set eyes, a bit like 2 currants in an uncooked bun. The kits come with little mascara brushes.
Dd consented to go yesterday after insisting she needed to go to a hair appointment at 11am (this is actually a step forward, as for the last few years she has refused to go to a hairdresser), so we didn't even arrive at the university until nearly 3pm. She was able to go and view her accommodation from the outside and looked at all the campus facilities. She is slap-bang next to the medical centre - which is excellent - and has muttered about registering there online (hooray, because her accessing help when she needs it is going to be the key to success of this entire enterprise). She is already in a FB chat group with the people sharing the accomm with her and they are discussing who is bringing what in terms of kitchen equipment etc. At the end of the visit, we sat and had coffee outside the very swish main coffee bar and she thanked me and said that she thought everything had turned out for the best and she was really pleased she will be going to this place rather than her original offer. So am I, quite frankly. It's going to cost her an arm and a leg, because she is on a full maintenance award, as well as the tuition fees, but hopefully that will concentrate her mind and enable her to focus on actually doing some work from time to time.
We then went straight from there to the Ikea 15 mins away (no such things in our neck of the woods). Didn't get home until after 10. Dd has a medical stuff to deal with now, but I am hoping that she will now be able to use the general excitement she is feeling to get her through any tricky troughs over the next couple of weeks. Freshers' Week starts on Sept 10th, so I'll be dropping her off on the 9th. Not long to get everything sorted!
