Shall we share budget options that we've found to be as good as their expensive counterparts?

I shall start by suggesting Nanoblur as an eyeshadow primer. I used to use Urban Decay and it was so expensive for a tiny tube and in the old bottles you could never get all the product out. So when j ran out I decided to try and find something different. I had lots of odd bits of stuff in my various make up bags and tried a few primers etc. I had some Nanoblur that I had bought for a special occasion and tried a tiny amount on my eyelids and OMG it works brilliantly. It will take me ages to work my way through the tube so it terms of economy it will be excellent long term and it works better than any of the other eyelid primers I've tried.

I second boots curl Crete, so cheap and works a treat!

Sorry Cream!

Seventeen phwoar paint concealer. I used to buy either benefit erase paint or an Estée Lauder one but don't any more.

it is £5.49, I do think they have actually put the price up as it is quite a cult like dupe

The range of colours is limited - just two I think which is its only downfall

I had the Aldi caviar cream on my skin for 30 seconds,it stung SO badly!! Their restorative cream is good though.

Just been to Tesco and bought the post balm lotion, on offer for 2.50. just tried a bit on my hand and feels nice but the smell is a bit strong, not sure I'll like it on my face but by the time I've got the rest of my slap on I might not notice. No big deal either way at only 2.50. I love the lanacane one but it makes my face a bit hot sometimes.

Boots curl creme is wonderful stuff. I like Yes to coconuts shampoo and conditioner which are sulphate and silicone free.

SteamyMcDreamy · 02/08/2016 00:38

Damediazepam the smell goes very quickly. You only notice it for a few seconds. My make up now lasts all day. I think it's brilliant.

W7 Night Glow is identical (in my opinion) to Benefit High Beam.

Boots No 7 BB cream

Aldi face cream

Soap and Glory's 'Glow all out' is a good sub for Benefit's Dandelion Powder

I recently went to a Look Good Feel Better make up session and was told the same thing about the Borgois and Chanel being from the same factory - different packaging!

minipie · 02/08/2016 17:39

Ooh interested in the Nivea post shave balm rec. DH uses it anyway so I may as well give it a go!

minipie · 02/08/2016 17:44

I know it's a business. But surely they could make plenty without all the newspaper cut and paste stories - and there's a risk that the newspaper stories will kill the goose that lays the golden egg if people stop wanting to post anything remotely personal. So if they are colluding, I don't think it's a great business decision. (Of course they may not be colluding and just have no real way to stop it)

minipie · 02/08/2016 17:44

oops wrong thread! Blush

Leahdaninorris09 · 03/08/2016 14:42

If you like eyeshadows sleek eye pallets are brilliant the pigments are really strong and last all day xx

squoosh · 03/08/2016 15:08

Bourjois owns Chanel but that doesn't mean it's the same product in different packaging. That's a S&B myth.

Agree re the own brand dry shampoo...only one for us (me and 3 daughters) is Baptiste. (and no I don't have any affiliation with them!) Tried others and like the other poster could't even bring myself to finish it.
Aldi face cream...ok for some but my skin not keen on it, brings out spots and redness
Mascara - Maybelline great lash is pretty good
Eye removing stuff (and make up) - Ponds cold cream (Kylie is said to use it...no idea if true but works for me)
Waterproof eye liner...tried most but think I must have sweaty eyes (!) and have to stick to Estee Lauder!
Body mosituriser...I like Garnier as I like the scent but Aldi is perfectly ok
Fake tan mousse stuff (my girls use it sometimes)...St Moritz just as good as other stuff. (don't be put off if it looks green when it comes out!)
Like the Asda spa shower stuff (had it as a present and love it so much kept buying)

Good thread...I love a bargain beauty buy!!!
