Mine are:
Comfort while regaining mobility after an injury.
Being away on holiday in a town where nobody knows me.

I've got the Kadee flip flops and they're the best I've had, much more comfortable than my Havianas.

NecklessMumster · 11/07/2016 17:04

Comfortable , don't smell, don't wear out
And secretly I don't think they're ugly but have to confine them to garden /beach due to the overwhelming opinions of fashion police. A rumour spread by the shoe industry to keep themselves in business. Except I fell in the garden wearing mine and did break my toeBlush

LunaLoveg00d · 11/07/2016 17:10

Unfortunately they do wear out. I have pair of black Crocs Jayna - the sling back type ones - which I have worn so much that the sole is almost smooth. Fine when it's dry treacherous when the pavements are wet.

I'm also past caring what the fashion police think.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/07/2016 17:17

Doing stuff in the garden eg bins (not actual gardening because of the holes). Excellent if you go on a canal boat holiday. They are also the recommended footwear for taking on DofE expeditions for campsite and for wading across streams - light weight, stay on pretty well, non slip and closed toe.

WhenTheDragonsCame · 11/07/2016 17:17

I had to wear a pair while observing some surgery a while ago, all staff were wearing them.

On small children. DD3s are very cute and look like fish (Next not crocs)

MsKite · 11/07/2016 17:24

So comfortable...but gave me athlete's foot 😬

maddiesparks · 11/07/2016 17:32

I am a nurse and wear crocs to work, they are the only shoes in all my nursing career that don't make my feet ache like hell after a day's work and don't get sweaty and stinky. So I couldn't give a fig whether they are fashionable, I love 'em. That said I wouldn't wear them out of work personally. My two youngest DC have them though, they are very practical.

Beautifullymixed · 11/07/2016 17:37

Also love the kaydee flip flops.
As light as air and my feet feel secure wearing them.
These, I will wear out of the house Grin

MadisonMontgomery · 11/07/2016 17:43

I like mine for wearing round the house in summer - soooo comfy!

MissPattie · 11/07/2016 17:49

In a dinghy. Brilliant for getting boats up on beaches.

scurryfunge · 11/07/2016 17:53

I have them purely for caravanning. Brilliant for trips to the shower but that's about it.

UnicornMadeOfPinkGlitter · 11/07/2016 17:56

It must have all changed then as five years ago we weren't allowed to wear crocs on the wards or in theatre. Had to wear proper medical clogs or boots.

LunaLoveg00d · 11/07/2016 18:12

You can get different sorts of Crocs aimed at healthcare professionals which don't have the holes in the toes.

pregnantgrump · 11/07/2016 18:15

Wipe clean slipper surrogates robust to the hazards associated with baby led weaning.

charleydingle3005 · 11/07/2016 18:17

I'm a chef and crocs are the comfiest things ever invented! If they looked cool id be wearing them everywhere, don't think I'd get away with them paired with a summer dress haha

SparklesandBangs · 11/07/2016 18:20

I have a pair of comfort flip flops they are my go to shoes when I don.t need to be smart and always worn around the house

I've never owned a pair of the clogs but I'm considering a pair for the winter

BatmanLovesMarmite · 11/07/2016 18:35

I wouldn't be caught dead in normal Crocs (only on me though - other people can wear what they like, it's a free world Grin) but I've got these sandals...

Crocs: is there ever an excuse?
BringMeTea · 11/07/2016 18:51

Under 10s and some workers with a good reason, e.g. HCP, chef (as noted here!). Otherwise...

ShelaghTurner · 11/07/2016 19:08

They look super cute on my 4yo when she has two functioning legs! Had to surreptitiously remove them from the 8yo because they looked a bit clumpy cloggy on her.

Wotrewelookinat · 11/07/2016 19:53

They're the only footwear I can wear with my plantar fasciitis. Everything else leaves me in agony. I gave a pair for in the house and a 'going out' pair. Don't care what people think, at least I can walk without hobbling like an old lady!

Sgtmajormummy · 11/07/2016 20:08

Rabid downstairs neighbours who complain about the slightest noise?

Yes, we have one of those and we all wear Crocs in the house. I have a pair which are probably an older version of NickyFury's but I would love to go back to my Scholl's Originals (soooo good for the calf muscles) but Rabid Neighbour would probably come upstairs with a shotgun!

fadingfast · 11/07/2016 20:33

I wear mine as 'outdoor slippers' in the garden, when camping and on the beach only. Comfy and practical for those purposes and perfectly appropriate in my view.

Chewits · 11/07/2016 20:51

I have the kadee flip flops, they just look like normal flip flops but are way more comfy!

Tactfulcactus · 11/07/2016 20:56

Saw them in TK Maxx today. £9.99. I have never had a pair. Do I need them??

NeedATrim · 11/07/2016 21:02

They look absolutely foul. But I wear a pair - the clog classic! Sob - whenever I have to walk outside. Otherwise I suffer from terribly aching feet, stiff toes, back pain and sore calf muscles. I read that 'barefoot' shoes, likr the croc classic are a relief for feet as the wide and loose fit allow the feet and toes to splay out in the way that they should do. I can't wear vibrams so its either crocs or something like the vivobarefoot.
When I've my crocs on, I just dont look down!
