Cosmetic dental treatment

Has anyone had any cosmetic work done? Please share your experiences with me?

I recently went to a cosmetic dentist with hope of getting clear braces upper and lower.

My teeth are in a bit of a state not only gappy crooked but chipped, thinning but I have many huge black fillings.

I knew in advance it would cost £3k but they suggested I opt for crowns. They said if I had some upper and lower it would correct all my problems apart from the fillings but I would be limited in colour choice unless I had a whitening treatment.

The price went from £3k to just under £9k once I saw the before and after photos I knew I wanted it done but wanted all my teeth doing. The price went up to £13k.

My husband has been loosing teeth they are very brittle. He has never had orthodontic treatment and his front teeth are so twisted he can't close his mouth properly. His dentist recommended him to get bridges before he looses anymore that he will need implants. Priced up 4 teeth and he's looking at £2k with the cosmetic dentist. He asked about crowns and the price was massive for us both to have the work it was £30K.

A husband and wife we know have not long ago returned from abroad and both had full sets of crows they look fantastic. After lots of thinking and research we have booked it and are both having a full set of zerconian crowns.

What dental cosmetic work have you had done?

I'm planning on having a consultation with an orthadontist, my top front teeth are awful and make me feel extremely self concours. My own dentist said I'd be better off getting a brace than vaneers as 2 of my teeth are protruding quite a bit.

Would love to see some more before and after pics of what people have had done, the before/after pic posted up thread is amazing!

Following this thread as I'd love to get this done. I've severe gum disease so I would presume I would have to get that treated.

Did you have to go for a consultation in the UK? Will you have to go back or is it all done in one week?

I had many email exchanges and phone conversations with the dentist in turkey. They always call you.
I then sent photos and they work out a treatment plan.

They pick you up from hotel and drop you back from hotel.

The first thing they do is a panoramic xray and sit you down and see if there is any work that needs doing. I was told 4 root canals as they need to shave my front ones down drastically. Instead of up selling they actually reduced the amount of crowns I needed and said for free they would replace my metal filling to white.

Went in today for roots and I ended up having 5 as one of my NHS fillings they were not happy with. When I came home I noticed they also filled in another filling to white that hadn't actually been picked up on the xray. All free of charge.

I am a bloody wimp and kept raising my hand so they kept injecting me, ended up with 15 injections. The care is honestly amazing. As soon as I was finished they came in with pain killers and made sure we had antibiotics and pain killers at the hotel.

It it guaranteed in a week. You have a treatment day the a rest day but they have scheduled the appointments so we get a good few hours by the pool first.

I will attach my photo of before and my temp plastic ones.

They are not perfect by any means but in my opinion the transformation already with just plastic teeth is amazing on my top set.

I will update with my proper picture on Friday / Saturday depending if I need to go back for any tweaks.

Also forgot to mention I actually had a envelope waiting for me today with cash as I had less treatment then I paid for.

Also of you pay in advance or in cash you get 10% off. Between us both that has paid for our holiday and spending money.

Wow, so impressed with your new teeth so far! And well done for braving the treatment without GA. I'll be following with interest, absolutely hate my teeth and would struggle to afford any significant work so going abroad would really be my only option.

Can't wait to see your finished look! Best of luck (ps would love to see before & after pics of your DH teeth too!)

My H teeth are bad. He would kill me for posting it online but if we end up on the fb page I will post a link.

He needs a lot of work doing as he's missing 5, has 3 smashed teeth where they have crumbled and the front ones are twisted and very sticky outwards.

We were just saying if someone hadn't recommend the place to us I don't think we would of had it done at all as there work is so amazing it's almost like it's photoshopped.

Sounds and looks great so far. My aunt got hers done in Turkey but she needs work on them again and no doctor will touch them here.

Is your husband getting the work done at the same time?

Report
stripedjumper · 08/09/2016 08:35

Why won't they touch her here snip?

Yes we both have treatment on the same days so we get picked up and taken back together.

He had a bit of a wait for me yesterday I had 4 root canals done no issues but they found a few probs when they dug out my NHS metal fillings and they just would not numb despite all the injections. He was out in a hour and I took 3.5.

The original quotation we had from the uk did not include any X-rays it was a basic quote with no other work.
Last night I got on there web page and sat with a calculator and despite the fact I'm down 2 crowns we worked out how much all the extra treatment would be the X-rays, roots, fillings and the price I was quoted at home was £30k the price after what we now know needed to be done was a whopping £38,900.

Our price here has gone down and in total we have paid £8770. With 1 free root for me plus two white fillings.

Haven't got my finished photo for you all just yet.

My husbands are finished and the transformation is unbelievable.

In my before picture where my gap is so large the skin Inbetween my teeth hangs down between the teeth so the fit of my top 4 teeth wasn't 100% so I had to have my gum lazer cut so the fit was nice. They placed them in without cement so I could check it all out and said the front 4 could be flatter so they took them back to the lab and I'm in this afternoon. I have the rest cemented in tho and they are fabulous

I don't know if it showed in my picture from the angle taken but my front 2 were buck teeth due to my thumb sucking and even my brace didn't fully correct that.

The treatment I've received has been fantastic. I ended up with 6 root canals and as soon as you flinch from a tiny bit of pain there in there with the injections.

They are very over precautions as these new teeth are permanent so any teeth that look like they may give you problems get treated. I was only down for 4 but once my NHS fillings were dug out they were not happy with the work done so I had one more.

One of my fillings had been playing me up for a little while but I've had it since I was about 10 so over 20years. I told them I had pain in it and they checked the sensitivity and the root came out.

When it comes to teeth I am the biggest wimp in the world but it's been fine. No issues with the language barrier as anything a bit specialist they can't explain a interpreter comes in.

I will come back later with my end results

I love looking at dental treatments pictures. I need braces of some sort but must see an orthodontist first to decide on the best course of action. But it'll be at least another 2 years before I can commit to a payment plan because first we need to pay off business debts. My teeth are crooked and ot affects how I talk to people as I'm so conscious of how they sit. But op, yours are remarkable. Good for you!
