I am not only pasty but don't tan. Seriously, I can sit in the sun with my SPF 30 and I am the same colour when I leave my holiday destination as I am on arrival. Actually, I use self tan before going away ^but all
Ways make a pig's ear of it^ so, I actually come home paler and patchy. Nice.

I'm off to Italy in the summer and just want to not go stripey and come back the same. Is the shower St Tropez worth the cash?

Thank you all

Wow! I really want to know about that cream!!

plimsolls · 30/05/2016 19:03

^^ that's about the body BB creams.

I've been using the darker one for three days and really like it. I tried the lighter one last summer and wasn't impressed but thought I'd give it another go as the process works much better for me than putting tan on.

I think so Heman the original took forever to give my pasty self a decent colour the darker one worked first time and better still the second.

HemanOrSheRa · 30/05/2016 21:36

That is it then. I shall buy it. Thanks Susan!

I'm a fan of the elemis gradual tan, subtle no streaks and only a faint whiff of biscuits.

Ordered that CLARINS one....the drops you add to your regular body moisturiser. It was on offer with ESCENTUAL at 25% off (til midnight, if anyone's interested!)

Thanks all.

I got a new tube of the regular St Tropez gradual tan this week, which I have used for years, and was pleasant,y surprised by the improved scent- slightly citrussy, not at all pongy. This gives a better result than the shower one IMVHO. The new Dove spa gradual tan (well new packaging) is extremely stinky, hence my return to St Tropez. Fragrance Direct has it at half the price of everywhere else too (£9)

I used the original pale one once and it was awful. It was cold and onconfortable waiting the three minutes and then it came out streaky and a weird pale yellow colour.

This year I tried Bondi Sands. www.boots.com/en/Bondi-Sands-Self-Tan-Mist-Light-Medium-250ml_1798881/

Fantastic. It sprays on in a very fine mist so no streaking. It has a very subtle guide colour so you can see where you have sprayed AND look better instantly. It is dry in minutes and you can repeat apply in an hour if you want a deeper look. I am very pale so used the lighter one but think I might buy the darker one next.

Last year. Long thread. Was crap

JackandDiane · 01/06/2016 08:35

Also hate the clarins drops. What a faff. I like plain old st t. Normal one

twobambinos · 01/06/2016 12:34

I'm very pale hated the in shower St tropez but love their gradual tanner. Used the medium to dark because the light one wasn't great. It's gradual so unlikely to end up too dark even in the med dark colour. Apply with a tanning mitt

Ifonlyiweretaller · 01/06/2016 18:39

I've just started using the St Tropez gradual tanner too. Dove and Garnier are just too smelly for me. I have had a lot of compliments saying it looks very natural. Yes, more expensive but worth it for me. Im very pale naturally and the light one does the trick. Hates the in shower St T - threw it in the bin after 2 applications!

Question - with the fine mist spray tans (Sally Hansen airbrush etc) does anyone else find the bathroom is a complete mess when finished? the mist seems to get everywhere and has stained the grouting between the tiles as i didn't clean it up quickly enough! (too busy rubbing the tan in...)
